Jiosa is a five year old black male. He ran 221 races at Wheeling, Southland, Naples/Ft. Myers, Palm Beach, Sarasota, Melbourne, Ebro and Daytona Beach Greyhound Parks. After all his travel throughout the Sunshine State, he is ready to find a furever family and enjoy his retirement. He has tested kid and other large breed friendly, however he is not cat or small animal safe. Jiosa enjoyed a long career and he has the all the normal character traits of an older greyhound. He is very confident, but he is not pushy. He picks up a new routine fast and he is eager to please. He is very laid back and nothing seems to bother him. He gets along with all the other greyhounds in his playgroup and he shares nicely. He can hang out with the very confident and the very shy greyhounds. He enjoys playing with toys, even the ones that do not squeak, and he shares them nicely with the others. He likes to get those zoomies in during his time out in the paddock and will do them with a group or on his own. He enjoys getting your attention and affection, and he stands quietly by your side. He likes to go out for walks and he walks nicely on a leash. He even has a little swagger to his step and he shows off his shiny hiney!! He knows when he is supposed to get a treat and he takes them nicely from our hands. Jiosa will make a greyt first greyhound or a wonderful addition to an existing pack.

Such a Sweet Girl

Sunflower is a two year old brindle female. She ran 25 races at Southland and Tri-State Greyhound Parks. Now this tiny little girlie hound would love a quiet and laid back family that will show her plenty of affection. She has tested older kid, cat and other breed friendly. Sunflower is a very sweet girl who needs time to adjust to new people and new environments. She is not a shy girl, but she is definitely hesitant until she knows what to expect. Once she is adjusted, she enjoys your company and wants your attention. She gets along greyt with the other greyhounds and loves to do her zoomies with the pack. She really loves to play with her two sisters, Fairy and Aster, who are also currently available for adoption and are both very shy. She will initiate play with the other greyhounds with a graceful play bow. Due to her need for a quiet environment and time to adjust, we will only place her in a home with older kids (10+). She doesn't mind going for a walk, as long as the walker is someone that she is familiar with. She does know that she is going to get a treat upon her return, but she has not started to take them from our hands. She waits patiently until you put it down in her crate for her. Big Boy, Big Heart

Fast is a an almost two year old white and black male (cowdog). He ran 9 races at Dubuque and Daytona Beach Greyhound Parks. Now this big boy wants nothing more than a fun furever family with a back yard and lots of toys. He has tested older kid and other large breed friendly, however he is not cat or small animal safe. Fast is a big boy with a race weight of 78 pounds, that means that his pet weight will easily be in the mid to high 80's. He is a lot of greyhound. His body is big, but his heart is bigger!! He is very loving and affectionate. He loves to be around people and if you rub his bum, he will do a goofy dance. He enjoys being with the other greyhounds in his playgroup and he shares nicely. He is big, but he doesn't throw his weight around. He loves to do his zoomies either alone or with the other dogs, and he will initiate them by giving them a happy play bow. He enjoys playing with the toys, even the ones that don't squeak, but he will let you take it from him. If another greyhound wants a toy that he has, he will let them have it and simply walk away. Due to his playful nature, we are looking for a home with a fenced in yard and older kids (5+). He likes to go for walks and once he gets over his "OMG!! You have a leash in your hands!!" excitement, he walks nicely on a leash. He does know that once he returns from his walk, he gets a treat and he takes them nicely from your hand. Fast would make a greyt first greyhound or a wonderful addition to an existing pack.

Small Boy, Big Heart

Eli is a four year old black male. He ran 141 races at Wheeling Downs and Palm Beach Greyhound Parks. He is looking for a family that likes to play and has a rather large collection of toys for him to choose from. He has tested older kid and other large breed safe, however he is not cat or small animal friendly. Eli is the perfect example of good things come in small packages. He is fun and very friendly. He loves to play with the toys, even the ones that no longer squeak. He really likes when you want to play with him and throw the toy. He doesn't bring it back, but he will let you come and take it from him to throw again. He is not toy obsessed, he just enjoys a good toy play session. He gets along greyt with the other greyhounds and he shares nicely. If another greyhound wants his toy, he will let them have it and move onto the closest one. He maybe small, but he has nothing to prove. He loves to do his zoomies and he joins in with the greyhound gang when they start. He will do his zoomies on his own too. He enjoys going out for his walks and once he gets over the "OMG, is that a leash" syndrome, he walks nicely. He loves to get his treats, but he has not started to take them from our hands. Happy Brood

Iris is a six year old red fawn female. She ran 121 races at Southland and Tri-State Greyhound Parks. After her racing career, she returned to her farm to start her second career as a brood momma. We are not sure how many offspring she has had as they have not been registered in the data base yet. Now she is looking for a lifelong commitment from a loving and fun family. Iris has an infectious spirit and can bring a smile to your face. She gives you the impression that she has never had a bad day and that she has never met a stranger. She is very outgoing and social. She enjoys being around the other greyhounds and she shares nicely. She has that confident brood momma thing down perfectly. She has shown some interest in toy, but hasn't opened up that play side yet. She likes to go out for walks and she walks nicely on a leash. She has a very happy bounce to her step and you can see that she is enjoying herself. She knows that when she returns, she gets a treat and she will watch you until she gets it. She has not started to take the treats from our hands. We believe that due to her positive attitude and outgoing nature, she would make a good therapy greyhound. Shy Girl

Aster is a two year old brindle female. She ran 26 races at Tri-State Greyhound Park. Now this sweet, but shy, girl is looking for a quiet and understanding family that will help her to become a dog. She has tested older kid and other large breed friendly, however she is not cat or small animal safe. Aster is one of three sisters that we currently have available for adoption. She is very shy around new people and in new environments. She needs a family that will take their time with her and help her come out of her shell. She gets along greyt with the other greyhounds and she enjoys playing and doing zoomies. She has show some interest in toys, but it is usually when another greyhound shows her what to do. If you just watch her interact with the others, you would never know that she is shy. But when you go to her, her body language changes and she will walk away. Due to her need for a quiet environment, we will only place her with older kids (12+). We also believe that she would do best in a home with another dog, not necessarily a greyhound, to help her through her transition and show her how to be a dog. She likes to go for walks as long as she knows the person walking her and in a familiar area. She enjoys getting her treats, but she has not taken them from our hands. She will play with anyone in her playgroup. If another greyhound gets a little pushy or overwhelming to her, she will simply walk away. Diamond in the Rough

Leta is a two year old red female. She ran four races at Daytona Beach Greyhound Park. Now she is looking to find a loving furever family that has dog experience and a big fenced in yard. She has tested older kid and some large breed friendly, however she is not cat or small animal safe. Leta is a friendly and outgoing girlie hound who likes to be in charge. She has a dominate personality and needs an experienced dog owner who will set limits and stick to them. She is very sweet and loves the affection and attention of our volunteers. She enjoys getting pets and will stand next to you forever as long as you are petting her. She will even lean on you and has been known to let out a moan or two during some serious ear rubs. She gets along with some of the greyhounds in her playgroups. She likes to be in charge and does best with a mid pack dog, not too weak and not in charge. She loves to play and do her zoomies, and she has no problem initiating either with the other members of the playgroup. She loves toys and she will share them with the other greyhounds. She loves the toys whether they squeak or not. Her furever parents need to provide a large toy collection for this girl. Due to her in charge nature, we will only place her with older kids (12+). We will also recommend that her adoptive family take her to training classes. Don't miss out on her, she is a diamond in the rough and will certainly make her family proud. She loves to go for walks and she walks nicely on a leash. Leta would make a greyt family member to an experienced dog family.

She's a Charmer

Wanda is a four year old white and red female. She ran 138 races at Tri-State Greyhound Park. She suffered a career ending injury, a broken right rear leg, that has healed and she has full use. Now she just wants to spend her retirement getting adored by her family. She has tested kid, cat and other breed friendly. Wanda has it all. She is beautiful, outgoing, social and friendly. She can definitely twist your heart around her paw and she knows it. She has been on leash restriction since her arrival, March 3rd, to ensure that her leg is truly healed. She enjoys going for walks and she walks nicely on a leash. She has a swagger to her walk and if you stop, she will lean on your leg. She has gone on walks and out for potty with the other greyhounds and gets along greyt with all of them. If another greyhound gives her attitude, she won't just walk away, but she won't feed into it either. She has shown some interest in squeaky toys, but she has not started to play yet. We believe that she will be a toy hoarder in her retirement. She would make a wonderful "ambassa-dog" for greyhound adoption and even possibly a therapy greyhound. Wanda would make a greyt first greyhound or a wonderful addition to an existing pack.

He has tested other large breed friendly, however he is not cat or small animal safe. Bri is very fun and social. He likes to play and run around doing his zoomies. He doesn't mind being in the play yard with the other greyhounds and he will run and play with them, but he has been known to go off by himself with a toy. He gets along well with males and with females, but he seems to respect an assertive female more. We placed him in a home twice, and he was returned for the same reason. If he has a toy or a treat on his bed and you approach him, he growls. He needs an experienced and dedicated dog owner who will put in the time and take him to obedience training. Due to his guarding behavior, we will not place him in a home with kids. We believe that he would do best as a second or third dog in the house so that he can integrate into a pack. He needs a backyard so that he can play and run. He is very affectionate and engaging. He loves getting attention from our volunteers and enjoys being chased around the play yard. WAGNER - ADOPTED

Could Be a Cuddler

Josh is a three year old black male. He ran 99 races at Palm Beach and Daytona Beach Greyhound Parks. Now this affectionate and engaging boy is looking for a fun loving family that would like to be in a committed long-term relationship. He has tested kid and other large breed friendly, however she is not cat or small animal safe. Josh is truly a wonderfully fun, goofy and attentive boy. He loves being around people and prefers the human attention over the company of his own kind. Don't get us wrong, he likes being out with the other greyhounds and he does have fun with them. He does participate in the daily zoomie run and he has been seen initiating. He also loves to play with the toys, even the ones that do not squeak, and he shares nicely. But once he has spent time playing and starts getting attention from the human, he just wants attention from the human. He loves ear rubs and he will occasionally chatter his teeth or puff out his cheeks to let you know he is enjoying it. Due to his friendly and outgoing nature, we believe that he would make a greyt therapy greyhound or "ambassa-dog" candidate. He enjoys going out for walks and he walks nicely on a leash. He will even stand still to let you put on his harness. He has a nice swagger to his walk and when you stop, he will lean on you. He knows that when he returns from his walks, he gets a treat and he takes them nicely from your hand. This boy has it all!! Josh would make a greyt first greyhound or a wonderful addition to an existing pack.

Sweet Momma

Rita is a five year old brindle female. She ran 122 races at Palm Beach Greyhound Park. Once she was retired from a successful career at the track, she returned to her farm for a second career as a brood momma. She had seven offspring in one litter. Now she is ready for her furever family to treat her like a puppy and spoil her with love and affection. She has tested kid and other large breed friendly, but she is not cat or small animal safe. Rita has a heart of gold and a wonderfully engaging personality. She absolutely loves people more than any toy or treat you can offer her. She is a bury her head in your chest, lean on you and wrap herself around you kind of girl. We believe that she would love a third career as the Therapy Greyhound and would throw her heart into it. She enjoys being out with the other greyhounds and she is just as engaging with them. She joins in with the zoomies and she shares nicely. She does get that instant respect afforded to broods from the other members of her playgroup. She is confident, but never pushy or bossy. She enjoys playing with toys, but mainly the ones that still squeak. She loves to go for a walk and she walks nicely on a leash. She even has a little swagger to her stride. She knows that when she returns from her walk, there should be a cookie waiting for her and she takes them nicely from your hand. Rita would make a greyt first greyhound or a wonderful and calming addition to an existing pack.

Brood Momma!

Lady is a 9 year old red female. She ran 122 races at Tri-State Greyhound Park. After her career at the track, she returned to her farm for a second career as a brood momma. During her second career she had 37 offspring in 7 litters. Now she is looking forward to spending her retirement being cared for and babied. She has tested kid, cat and other breed friendly. Lady is more reserved than your average brood momma. She is given immediate respect from the other hounds, but she is not an "in charge" kinda girl. She is very laid back and even gets a little nervous in new situations. Once she understands what is expected, she shows her affectionate and laid back side. She enjoys being with the other greyhounds in her playgroup and she shares nicely. She is not pushy for your attention, but she will hang around you and approach you slowly. She has not started to play with toys, but she does show interest in the squeak. She likes to go out for walks and she walks nicely on a leash. If you stop walking, she will stand there leaning on your leg. She enjoys getting treats, but she is a little fussy over what she likes. She loves cheese and stinky treats the most. She has not started to take treats from our hands yet. Lady would make a greyt first greyhound or a wonderful addition to an existing pack.

Needs Someone Special

Fairy is a two year old brindle female. She ran 3 races at Tri-State Greyhound Parks. Now this very shy girl is looking for a home that will give her the time she needs to adjust. She has tested older kid, cat and other breed friendly. Fairy is one of three sisters that we currently have available for adoption. Out of the three of them, she is the shyest and needs the most time to adjust to new people and new environments. It takes her longer than her sisters to warm up to people. Once she starts to trust you, she will come to you and even be affectionate, but she is still cautious. She gets along greyt with the other greyhounds in her playgroup. She will play and do zoomies with the others, even with her sisters. If another greyhound gets pushy with her, she will walk away. Due to her need for adjustment in a quiet environment, we will only place her with older kids (12+) and even then we will be very cautious. We believe her perfect furever home will have another dog in the house, not necessarily a greyhound to help her become a pet and have a furry friend. Her family needs to have a fenced in backyard, because it will take her time to adjust to walking on a leash with new people and in a new place. Watching a shy greyhound emotionally grow in their furever home is very rewarding experience. She just needs the right adopter. Fairy would make a wonderful addition to an existing pack.

MISSY - ADOPTED

JAY JAY

Toy Addict

Bogey is a three year old black male. He ran 71 races at Orange Park and Daytona Beach Greyhound Park. Now he wants to find a furever home with plenty of room to play and a family that will supply him with all the toys his heart desires. He has tested older kid and other large breed friendly, but he is not cat or small animal safe. Bogey is addicted to toys. He will go from toy to toy to toy with a strong passion to find one that will squeak. He likes being with the other greyhounds in his playgroup, but he does not find them necessary. He is quite capable of entertaining himself. He will do his zoomies by himself and he will even throw the toy in the air and catch it. When he is in there with other greyhounds, he shares nicely and will play and zoom with them. If he has a toy that another greyhound wants, he will simply take the toy and run away with it. Due to his playful nature, we will only place him with older kids (10+). His perfect home has a fenced in backyard and another dog, not necessarily a greyhound, for plenty of play time. He likes to go out for walks, and he could use some practice not pulling on the leash. He is a smart boy and knows when he is supposed to get a treat. He gets excited, but he takes them gently from your hand. Bogey would make a wonderful addition to an existing pack.

Give Me a Chance, Please

Buzz is a seven year old brindle male. He ran 137 races at Flager, Naples/Ft. Myers, Palm Beach, Derby Lane and Mobile Greyhound Parks. He came to us in 2014 and was adopted after two months. His male adopter returned him due to growling at him. He said that when he wanted to take him for his late night walk, Buzz would lie on his bed and growl. We placed him in another home and he didn't get along with the male adopter there either. He has been with us for the quite some time and has shown us that he loves woman and does anything they ask. We are now looking for a female household that will give him the love and structure he needs.Due to his past experiences, we will not place him in a home with children, however he likes kids and has had no issues being around them. He has tested older kid, cat and other breed friendly. He gets along with the other greyhounds in his playgroup and he shares nicely. He will engage the other dogs in play and doing zoomies. But most times he is nose to the ground checking stuff out. If you call him, he will come running over for attention and ear rubs. He loves car rides and gets very excited about going through a McDonald's drive thru. He likes to go for walks and he walks nicely on a leash. He loves treats and he takes them nicely from your hands. Buzz would do best in a home with an experienced female owner and would even be a wonderful addition to an existing pack.

Needs a Special Person

Amandaville is a four year old red female. She ran 43 races at Orange Park and Tri-State Greyhound Parks. Now she needs a special person who will give her the time and support she needs to be successful in her furever home. She has tested other large breed friendly, however she is not cat or small animal safe. Amandaville was placed in a home, but she took over and had to be returned. She has a very strong personality and would do best with other greyhounds in her home with an experienced adopter. She needs someone who is going to set limits with her and stick to them. She also needs a fenced in backyard so she can enjoy her zoomie time and play. She has been at Greyt Acres Farm for a while now and our volunteers have worked with her. They have done an amazing job helping her drop some extra pounds and working on her social skills. It is because of their hard work and dedication that she is ready to find her true forever home. Due to her first placement, we will not place her in a home with kids. She likes kids and has no problem with them, but we do not want her to become alpha over them. She loves to go out for her walks and she walks nicely on a leash. She loves getting treats and she takes them nicely from your hand. We recommend that her new parents take her to obedience training to help her understand that they are in charge. Amandaville would make a wonderful addition to an existing pack.

She's a Leaner

DeeDee is a three year old red female. She was bred to race, however she was never officially registered with the National Greyhound Association or sent to training. Her and her sister, Dee, came to us together to find their furever home. She has tested older kid and other large breed friendly, however she is not at or small animal safe. DeeDee loves getting attention from our volunteers. She will find you in the play yard and lean on you while you are petting her. If you slow down or stop petting her, she will lean in harder and look up at you with her big eyes. Her expression just begs you to continue giving her affection. She likes to play and she never met a toy she didn't like. She gets along with the other greyhounds and loves to play and do zoomies with them. But she doesn't need the to play with anyone as she can be quite content to play and run by herself. Due to her playful nature, we will only place her with older kids (12+). We believe that she would do best in a home with an active family who would include her in their active lifestyle. She would also love a fenced in yard and lots of toys. She likes to go out for walks and she walks nicely on a leash. She enjoys getting treats and she takes them gently from your hand. DeeDee would make a greyt first greyhound or a wonderful addition to an existing pack.

Petite and Sweet

Cottle is an almost three year old white and black female. She ran 71 races at Orange Park Kennel Club. Now she is looking for a long term commitment with a family who wants a heart hound. She tested kid and other large breed friendly, however she is not cat or small animal safe. Cottle reminds you of a little flirty girl. She can easily have you wrapped around her little paw with her come hither eyes and her inviting smile. She loves to get attention and affection from our volunteers. She will go up to anyone and look up at the until she gets some loving. She is a social butterfly, but not pushy or bossy at all. She will become some lucky adopter's velcro baby, she will be stuck to you, and possibly a little lap-girl. She gets along with all the other greyhounds in her playgroup and she shares nicely. If another greyhound wants something she has, she will either take what she has and runs or she will just let them have it. She even lets the human in the playgroup take her toy. She enjoys exploring her environment, but she respects being told "No". She loves to go out for walks and gets very excited when she sees a leash, but she settles in nicely. She enjoys getting a snack after going out. She has not started to take treats from our hands, but it is just a matter of time. Cottle would make a greyt first greyhound or a wonderful addition to an existing pack.

Just Wants to Have Fun!

Cronk is a two year old black male. He ran 21 races at Derby Lane and Daytona Beach Greyhound Parks. After a short stint at running the oval, he is ready to make a track in his furever backyard. He has tested older kid and other large breed friendly, however he is not cat or small animal safe. Cronk is a big, goofy, fun and playful boy. He loves being out in the paddock with his playgroup or alone. He loves toys, even the ones that do not squeak. His love for toys is passionate, but not obsessive. He will share the toys with the other greyhounds in his playgroup. If another greyhound wants the toy that he has, he will let them have it and move onto the next available toy. He loves doing the daily zoomies and he will do them in a group or on his own. He does initiate play and zoomies with the other greyhounds with an awkward play bow and then a take off. He also has an affectionate side and likes to lean on you. He loves butt rubs and if you hit the right spot, he will do a little dance. Due to his playful nature, we will only place him with older kids (10+). He enjoys going out for walks, but he could use some practice to not cross in front of his walker. He loves his treats, loves his treats. He has not started to take them from our hands, but he watches you intensely until he gets it. Cronk would make a greyt first greyhound or a wonderful addition to an existing pack.

Wonderful Family Greyhound

Beemer is a four year old black male. He ran 97 races at Tri-State Greyhound Park. Now he is looking for a long term commitment with a loving family that wants a very affectionate hound. He has tested kid, cat and other breed friendly. Beemer is a lover and a leaner. He will lean on you so hard that if you move, he just may fall over. He loves to get attention and affection from people, and has never met a stranger. He gets along greyt with the other greyhounds and will join them for zoomie time. He has shown some interest in toys, but would give them up for some ear rubs and a butt scratch. He does initiate play and interaction with a goofy play bow. We believe that due to his outgoing and interactive nature, he would make a good therapy greyhound candidate. He loves to go out for walks and he will even stand perfectly still for you to put on his harness. He walks nicely on a leash and he has a confident swagger to his stride. He enjoys getting treats, but has not started to take them from our hands. He will watch you and wait patiently for you to put one in his crate for him. Beemer would make a greyt first greyhound or a wonderful addition to an existing pack.

BEAVER - ADOPTED

Sweet and Petite

Missy is a two year old white and brindle female. She ran 32 races at Southland, Wheeling and Tri-State Greyhound Parks. Now this sweet little girl would love to find a furever family that will spoil her with toys and treats. She has tested older kid, cat and other breed friendly. Missy is a very sweet and playful little girlie hound. She enjoys being around people just as much as she enjoys being around the other greyhounds in her playgroup. She is outgoing and social. It was very hard to get any pictures of her because it was very hard to get her to not be attached to us. She gets along with all the other greyhounds and she does share nicely. If another greyhound wants something that she has, she will simply walk away and let the take it. She loves to join in on the zoomies, but she does not initiate them. She loves the toys and her furever family will need a toy box big enough for her few hundred faves. Due to her playful nature, we will only place her in a home with older kids (10+). She likes to go out for walks and while you are getting her harness on her, she will stand still. But she could use some practice to not cross in front of her walker. She enjoys her treats, but she has not started to take them from out hands. Missy would make a greyt first greyhound or a wonderful addition to an existing pack.

Sweet Angel

Angel is a two year old red female. She ran 19 races at Orange Park, Mardi Gras and Daytona Beach Greyhound Parks. After all that travel during her short career, she is ready to settle down with a committed family. She tested older kid, cat and other breed friendly. Angel is a very sweet and unassuming girlie hound. When she first meets you she can be a little hesitant, but once she gets to know you she will follow you around in the paddock without you even knowing that she is there. She doesn't demand your attention but when you give it to her, you just cannot stop. It was hard to get her picture for her profile because she stayed so close to us. She likes being with the other greyhounds and she gets along with everyone in her playgroup. She will occasionally join in on the zoomies, but she never initiates. She has not started to play with toys and if you squeak one, she hardly looks over. She doesn't like the pushy hounds and will walk away from them. Due to her reserve nature, we will only place her with older kids (10+). We believe that she would do best in a home with another dog, not necessarily a greyhound, to follow and be her friend. She enjoys going for walks and she walks nicely on a leash. She loves her treats, but she has not taken them from our hands. Angels would make a wonderful addition to an existing pack.
