What a Love!

Humid is a 21 month old black male. He is registered with the National Greyhound Association and trained to race, however he never officially competed at a track. Instead of running in circles, he would prefer to run to a big comfy bed for a nap. He has tested kid, cat and other breed friendly. Humid is just a bundle of wonderfulness and affection. He enjoys a calmer environment and gentle attention from a human. He is young, but has not show to have your typical playful puppy side. He loves being with the other greyhounds in his playgroup. He enjoys their company and joins in the zoomies, but he has not initiated them. He has not shown any interest in toys, even the ones that squeak. We believe that he would do better in a home with another dog, not necessarily a greyhound, for companionship. He likes going out for walks and he walks nicely on a leash. He does walk better when he is walking with another greyhound. He likes getting treats, but he will not take them from our hands. He will watch and wait patiently for you to drop it. Humid would make a wonderful addition to an existing pack.

Playful Spirit
Marky is an almost two year old brindle male. He ran seven races at Sarasota Greyhound Park. He has decided that running the oval was not for him and would like to settle down with a fun family. He has tested older kid and other large breed friendly, however he is not cat or small animal safe. Marky has a playful spirit that is very contagious and will put a smile on your face. He is interested in the toys and when he hears a squeaker, he gets so happy. If he finds a squeaker in the toy, he lets you know. He will take it to a spot alone and squeak away. Due to his playful nature, we will only place him with older kids (10+). He gets along greyt with the other greyhounds and he shares nicely. If another greyhound wants the toy he has, he will let them take it and move on to another toy. This boy is a lover, not a fighter. He likes going out for a walk and he walks nicely on a leash. He is a leaner and if you move your body, this boy may just fall over. He likes getting his treats, but he has not started to take them from our hands. Marky would make a greyt first greyhound or a wonderful addition to an existing pack.

Loves to Play

Zapper is a two year old brindle male. He ran 54 races at Birmingham Greyhound Park. This boy is a player not a racer and would be very happy playing his retirement away. He has tested older kid and other large breed friendly, however she is not cat or small animal safe. Zapper has a lot of playful energy and enjoys showing it off. He loves playing with the other greyhounds in his playgroup, but they are not a necessity for him to have fun. He just needs some toys and a fenced in area to be a big goof. He will initiate the play and the zoomies, but he does share nicely. Due to his playful nature, we will only place him with older kids (10+). He likes getting attention from people and he will let you know. He will give you a nudge or a bump to tell you that he is ready for you to pet him. Beware that once you start, he doesn't really want you to stop. He enjoys going out for a walk, but he could use some practice on a leash. He can be pull a little too much and tends to cross in front of the walker. He loves and expects his treats, but he has not started to take them from our hands. Brains and Beauty

Shakira is a three year old white and fawn female. She ran 141 races at Naples/Ft. Myers, Sanford/Orlando and Daytona Beach Greyhound Parks. This beautiful girl is looking to find a family with an unlimited supply of toys. She has tested older kid and other large breed safe, however she is not cat or small animal safe. Shakira is a player and she can find a squeaky in a toy in seconds. She has not started to destroy the toys, but we see a stuffy killer in the making. She gets along with all the other greyhounds in her playgroup and she shares nicely. She does suffer from toy-mania, she goes from toy to toy to toy. She initiates playtime and zoomies with a fun bow. She is a tease and will play keep away from the person. Due to her playful nature, we will only place her with older kids (10+). This girl knows she is beautiful and can wrap you around her little paw. Show this girl a leash and get ready for her to show you some excitement. She loves to go for walks and once she settles down, she walks nicely on a leash. She enjoys her treats and she has started to take them nicely from our hands. She would do best with an active family that will include her in their activities and with a backyard for play. Judy is a three year old black female. She ran 121 races at Orange Park and Daytona Beach Kennel Club. Now that her trips around the oval are done, she is ready to retire to a comfy couch. She has tested kid, cat and other breed friendly. Judy has a sweet and affectionate side. She loves to stand by your side and lean into you for attention. She enjoys being out with the other greyhounds in her playgroup and participates in the zoomies and play. She will even initiate the zoomies and the play, but she inevitably ends up by your side. She likes to play with toys, even the ones that have lost the ability to squeak. If another greyhound wants her toy, she will walk away and find another toy. We believe that with her social and engaging personality plus her love of all things human and her calm disposition, she would make a greyt therapy greyhound candidate. She likes to go out for walks and she walks nicely on a leash. She even has a confident little swagger to her step. She enjoys getting her treats, but has not started to take them from our hands. He is Ready!
Driver is a four year old white and red male. He ran eight races at Wheeling Downs Greyhound Park. We placed him in a home in New York and he lived there for nine months. However when he saw other dogs on his walks, he would get over excited and bite his walker on the hand. This happened many times. Due to this behavior, he was returned to our agency. He has been with us for two years and has been on Prozac 20mg every morning for the past year and a half. Thanks to a very concerned volunteer who worked with him for the past year and his medication, he is ready to find his furever home. She has taken him out in many different social situations, socialized him with other dogs, walked him on a leash, snuggled with him and has even gotten in his crate with him and he has not displayed any sign of aggression. The only time that he gets upset is when he is in his crate and someone that he does not know comes up to him. But if he meets that same person outside of his crate, even on a leash, he is fine and will go right up to them for attention. Driver has tested older kids and other large breed friendly, however he is not cat or small animal safe. He loves to run and play. We have matched him up with several playmates throughout his time with us and he has never had a problem running and playing with them. He will also throw a toy up in the air and chase it all on his own. He loves getting his backside scratched and will even do a little dance. He loves treats and for months he has been enjoying Nutter Butter cookies thanks to his wonderful volunteer. We loves to go out for a walk and he walks nicely on a leash. Due to his past behavior, we will only place Driver with older kids (13+). His perfect furever home is quiet and patient. It has a fenced in backyard and another dog, not necessarily a greyhound, to play and as a companion. His furever parents have tons of dog experience and must be willing to continue his medication regiment. GAA will be very picky when finding him a furever home and we will want him to go to someone who will maintain contact with the organization. We will miss him terribly.

What a Beauty!

Joan is a two year old black female. She was registered with the National Greyhound Association and trained to race, however she never officially competed at a track. She would much rather be spending her time sleeping on a comfy couch. She has tested older kid and other large breed friendly, but she is not cat or small animal safe. Joan is timid in new situations and with new people, but she warms up quickly. She likes to be with the other greyhounds in her playgroup and shares nicely. She has shown interest in toys, but has not started to play. If you squeak a toy, she will look your way and her ears perk up. When you throw the toy she will run over to it, but she smells it and walks away. Due to her timid nature, we will only place her with older kids (10+). Once she is familiar with you, she will show you her friendly and affectionate side. She likes to get pets, but she is not pushy about getting your attention. If another greyhound wants your attention, she will simply walk away. She enjoys going out for a walk and will stand perfectly still to have her harness put on. She likes getting a cookie, however she has not started to take them from our hands. Joan would make a greyt first greyhound or a wonderful addition to an existing pack.

Sweet Boy

Pac is a two year old red brindle male. He ran 29 races at Orange Park and Daytona Beach Kennel Club. He has tested older kid, cat and other breed friendly. Pac is a gentle soul who loves to attach himself to you. It was very hard to get his pictures taken because every time you walked away from him, there he was looking up at you with his puppy dog eyes. He enjoys the company of the other greyhounds in his playgroup, but he does not engage them in play. He occasionally joins in with them, but he mostly follows the volunteer around. He is hesitant, but not shy. He has no interest in toys yet and doesn't even look over to see what is squeaking. However if a volunteer starts to run, he will run after them. It takes him some time to adjust to new situations and to new people, but once he knows you he is a leaner. Due to his quiet nature and need to adjustment time, we will only place him in a home with older kids (10+). He enjoys going for a walk and stands perfectly still while you are putting on his harness. He also walks perfectly by your side at a casual pace. He knows that he gets a treat upon his return, however he has not taken them from our hands. He has not even tried to nose the treat. He just stands there looking at you until you put the treat down for him. Pac would make a greyt first greyhound or a wonderful addition to an existing pack.

She gets along with all the other greyhounds and she shares nicely. If it is a toy that does not make a noise, she gives it up. But if it is a toy that squeaks and she is enjoying herself, she will take it and run away. Due to her playful and active nature, we will only place her with older kids (10+). He enjoys doing his zoomies, but has not initiated them or done them on his own. He has not started to play with toys, but he shows a lot of interest if they squeak or if you throw one for him. If another greyhound gets to the toy at the same time he does, he will let the other greyhound get it and walks away. He also likes to spend time with the human in his playgroup, and will not do a zoomie or two if he can be around you. He likes going for walks and he stands still while you put on his harness. Fancy is a twenty month old dark brindle female. She ran four races at Daytona Beach Kennel Club. If this girl was not built for racing, she is definitely built for lovin'. She has tested kid, cat and other breed friendly. Fancy is young and has a lot of innocent playfulness about her. She likes to have your attention and lets you know. She will slink in between you and "the crowd" to be by your side. But if another greyhound is more aggressive about getting your attention, she walks away. She loves being with the other greyhounds in her playgroup, but you can tell that she is still kind of figuring it all out. She is very playful with them and gives them a big play bow to start the zoomies. If no one responds to her, she has no problem keeping herself entertained. She likes to play with all the toys, even the ones that no longer have working squeakers. Due to her age and her playful puppy nature, we will only place her in a home with older kids (10+). She loves to go for a walk and she is excited to see you holding a leash. She does walk nicely once she gets over her initial excitement. Tanesha is a four year old black female. She ran 192 races at Flager, Palm Beach and Daytona Beach Kennel Clubs. After all that running your would think that she is ready to relax, but not this little girl. She has tested older kid and other large breed friendly, but she is not cat or small animal safe. Tanesha has a spunky fun contagious spirit that can only put a smile on your face. She loves being out with or without the other greyhounds in her playgroup. She has no problem entertaining herself and also entertaining you. She completes her zoomies with lightning speed and whizzes right by you. She also loves to run with the volunteer. She likes to play with toys, even the ones that no longer have squeakability. She has no problem sharing with the other greyhounds and will also let you take the toy from her. Due to her playful nature, we will only place her with older kids (10+). She is not all play. She will stand by your side to get attention and will lean into you to get noticed. She enjoys going for walks and once the initial excitement wears off, she walks nicely on a leash. We believe that she would do best with an active family that will include her in their activities. She loves getting her treats and she takes them nicely from your hand. Tanesha would make a greyt first greyhound or a wonderful addition to an existing pack.

Needs a Special Person

Amandaville is a four year old red female. She ran 43 races at Orange Park and Tri-State Greyhound Parks. Now she needs a special person who will give her the time and support she needs to be successful in her furever home. She has tested other large breed friendly, however she is not cat or small animal safe. Amandaville was placed in a home, but she took over and had to be returned. She has a very strong personality and would do best with other greyhounds in her home with an experienced adopter. She needs someone who is going to set limits with her and stick to them. She also needs a fenced in backyard so she can enjoy her zoomie time and play. She has been at Greyt Acres Farm for a while now and our volunteers have worked with her. They have done an amazing job helping her drop some extra pounds and working on her social skills. It is because of their hard work and dedication that she is ready to find her true forever home. Due to her first placement, we will not place her in a home with kids. She likes kids and has no problem with them, but we do not want her to become alpha over them. She loves to go out for her walks and she walks nicely on a leash. She loves getting treats and she takes them nicely from your hand. We recommend that her new parents take her to obedience training to help her understand that they are in charge. Amandaville would make a wonderful addition to an existing pack.

Girls Just Wanna Have Fun!!!

Sandra is an almost two year old red female. She ran 25 races at Sarasota and Mobile Greyhound Park. This girl was not built for speed, this girl was built for fun!! She has tested older kid, cat and other breed friendly. Sandra is very affectionate and wants your attention. She gets along greyt with the other greyhounds, but she will mostly play "follow the human" in the paddock. She is the type of hound that every time you turn around...there she is. She shows limited interest in toys and things that squeak. If you squeak a toy, she perks up. If you throw the toy you squeaked, she will run after it. Once she runs up to the toy, she smells it and walks away. If another greyhound tries to challenge her for the toy or human attention, she will walk away. When she sees you coming with a leash in your hand, she will stand up to do a dainty play bow and give you a little yip to let you know she is ready. She likes going our for her walks, but she can use some practice walking nicely on a leash. She also has a habit of trying to greet you by jumping up on you. Due to her playful spirit, we will only place her in a home with older kids (5+). Her friendly and outgoing nature makes her the perfect "ambassa-dog" for greyhound adoption. Sandra would make a greyt first greyhound or a wonderful addition to an existing pack.

DUKE

Needs Some Time

John-John is a two year old red male. He ran 30 races at Orange Park and Daytona Beach Kennel Club. After his short career chasing the lure he is looking to chase rabbits in his dreams. He has tested older kid, cat and other breed friendly. John-John is timid and needs time to adjust to new places and to new people. Once he warms up to you and knows what to expect, he likes being with you and will follow you around. He enjoys being with the other greyhounds in his playgroup and he will join in with the zoomies, but he will stay away from more alpha greyhounds. He has not shown any interest in toys, even if you squeak one. Due to his need to have adjustment time and a quiet environment, we will only place him with older kids (10+). We believe that he would do best in a home with another dog, not necessarily a greyhound, to follow and learn from, and a fenced in yard. He will go out for walks, but he walks better if he has another greyhound out on the walk with him. He does like getting treats, but he has not started to take the from our hands. John-John would make a wonderful addition to an existing pack and a velcro-hound for one lucky adopter.

Got Toys?

Soul is a three year old brindle female. She ran 85 races at Mobile Greyhound Park. This spunky free spirit is looking for a family that will support her toy addiction. She has tested older kid and other large breed friendly, however she is not cat or small animal safe. Soul a playful nature and loves to spend her time outside with as many toys as she can find. She will go from toy to toy to toy. She plays nicely with the other greyhounds and has no trouble sharing. If another greyhound wants a toy that she has, she simply moves on to another. She will also initiate play and their daily zoomies. She isn't pushy about it, but her but is in the air and her tail is wagging. We believe that she would do best with a fenced in backyard to allow her to enjoy playtime. Due to her playful nature, we will only place her in a home with older kids (10+). When she sees a leash, she gets very excited. She likes going for walks, but she could use some practice. She loves getting treats and she takes the nicely from your hand. Needs a Buddy

Sky is a three year old black female. She ran 109 races at Sarasota, Mardi Gras, Daytona Beach and Mobile Greyhound Parks. She would love to find a furever home of her very own. She has tested older kid and other large breed friendly, but she is not cat or small animal friendly. Sky is a little on the shy side and it takes her time to get to know people. Once she gets to know you, she is friendly and affectionate. She likes to go out with the other greyhounds in her playgroup and she will join in the zoomies. She has also been known to do a zoomie or two on her own, but she does not initiate them with the other greyhounds. She has not started to play with toys yet but if you find one that still squeaks, her ears perk up and she looks. Due to her hesitant nature, we will only place her with older kids (10+). She enjoys going out for a walk and walks nicely once she gets to know you. We believe that she would do best in a home with another dog, not necessarily a greyhound, to show her that trust is easy. She does like getting treats, especially really stinky ones, but she has not started to take them from our hands. Sky would make a very elegant and wonderful addition to an existing pack.

Chill
Vinny is a four year old red fawn male. He ran 153 races at Bluffs Run and Birmingham Greyhound Parks. Now he would love to sleep his days away on a comfy bed and just chill. He has tested kid and other large breed friendly, however he is not cat or small animal safe. Vinny has a very old soul attitude. He really loves people and will stand by you for hours as long as you are petting him and showing him some attention. He gets along greyt with the other greyhounds in his playgroup, but he is not much of a player. He will run around with the other greyhounds, but his only interest in toys is the noise they make. Once he has finished his run, he goes either to the gate to go back inside or to our volunteers for attention. If you squeak a toy he looks up and his ears are at attention, but he doesn't run towards it. He likes to go out for walks and he walks nicely on a leash. He likes getting his treats, but he has not started to take them from our hands. He will put his nose to your hand holding the treat, but then he looks down for you to drop it. When you drop the treat, he gently picks it up and lays down to eat it. Vinny would make a greyt first greyhound or a wonderful addition to an existing pack.

ZAPPER

Zoomie King!

Rusty is a three year old black male. He ran 173 races at Birmingham Greyhound Park. Now he wants to be with a family that will show him all the love he can handle. He has tested older kid, cat and other breed friendly. Rusty is the Zoomie King at the farm. He will zoomie alone, he will zoomie with another greyhound and he will zoomie with a bunch of greyhounds. He enjoys being out with the other greyhounds in his playgroup and he shares nicely. He definitely knows what a toy is and what it is for. He will even play with a toy that no longer squeaks. But if he finds a toy that squeaks, he will run around squeaking. Due to his playful spirit, we will only place him in a home with older kids (10+). He has lots of personality and is very social. He would do wonderful with an active family that will include him in their fun. He would make a greyt "ambassa-dog" for greyhound adoption. He enjoys going out for walks and he walks nicely on a leash. He knows that when he returns from his walk, there is a treat coming. He waits patiently and takes it nicely from your hand. Rusty would make a greyt first greyhound or a wonderful addition to an existing pack.

ICEE

Pup At Heart!
United is an almost two year old brindle male. He is registered with the National Greyhound Association and trained to race, however he never officially competed. Now he is looking to run and play with his furever family in their backard. He tested older kid and other large breed friendly, however he is not cat or small animal safe. United is just a big puppy at heart. There are times that he gets unsure of what you expect from him and he just sits down. He did not understand a harness and when we tried to put it on him, he went down to the ground. Due to his puppy like nature and uncertain demeanor, we will only place him with older kids (13+). He is a big boy. He is not tall but he is very, very thick. He gets along with the other greyhounds and he shares nicely. He is definitely a fan of toys, any toys. He will initiate play with the other greyhounds by a play bow and running away. He like to go for walks, but he could use some practice on a leash. He likes getting a cookie, but he does not take them from our hands. We believe that he would do best in a home with a dog experienced adopter with another dog, not necessarily a greyhound, in his home to show him the ropes. United would make a wonderful addition to an existing pack.

Such a Sweetheart

Hailey is a two year old white and black ticked female. She ran 5 races at Wheeling Downs and Mobile Greyhound Parks. She is now ready to find her furever family and spend her days napping on a furever couch. She has tested older kid, cat and other breed friendly. Hailey is just so sweet and lovable. She enjoys being out with the other greyhounds in her playgroup. She has not started to play with toys yet, but she absolutely loves doing zoomies. She will even do her zoomies on her own. She can be a little nervous in new situations and with new people. Once she warms up to you, she will become your best friend and shadow. She prefers women over men and warms up faster with them. Due to her need to adjust to new environments and people, we will only place her with older kids (10+). She likes to go out and gets very excited when she knows you are coming to get her. She walks nicely on a leash and gives you the look-back to make sure that you are still there. She likes getting her treats and that is when she will really show off her personality. She has not started to take the treats from our hands, but we are sure that she will get that soon. Hailey would make a greyt first greyhound or a wonderful addition to an existing pack.

She's a Keeper!

Reagan is a two year old white and black ticked female. She ran 64 races at Daytona Beach Kennel Club. She would love to find a furever home with a lot of love and toys. She tested kid, cat and other breed friendly. Reagan is outgoing and social. She is always happy to see our volunteers and is extremely happy when they are walking up to her. She is eager to go out and spend time with them. She loves being out with the other greyhounds in her playgroup and gets along with everyone from the shyest to the most alpha. She does not initiate the play, but she has no trouble joining in or joining the zoomies. She also has no trouble playing or zooming by herself. She likes the toys, but is bored with the ones that do not make any noise. If another greyhound wants the toy she has, she gets playful and runs away with it. If the greyhound is more insistent, she will let them have it and find another. Due to her social nature, we believe that she would make a greyt "abassa-dog" for greyhound adoption. She enjoys going out for walks, but could use some practice to not cross in front of her walker. She enjoys getting treats, but she has not started to take them from our hands. Reagan would make a greyt first greyhound or a wonderful addition to an existing pack.

Greyt Guy

Baez is a two year old red brindle male. He ran 3 races at Daytona Beach Greyhound Park and his last two races he was not in the picture. Needless to say he was built for the couch. He has tested older kid and other large breed friendly, however he is not cat or small animal safe. Baez has a huge heart and loves to show you his greyt personality. He loves to play with the other greyhounds and he shares nicely. If another greyhound wants his toy, he will pick it up and run around with it. He loves to do his zoomies and he will try to get the other greyhounds to join in with him. But if no one gives into his awkwardly cute play bow, he will take off and complete his zoomies all on his own. He has ADTD, Attention Deficit Toy Disorder, and will go from toy to toy to toy trying to find the right one. He will even pick up fluff thinking that he can get it to squeak. Due to his playful nature, we will only place him with older children (10+). He likes to go out for walks, but he could use some practice on a leash. He enjoys getting affection and will stand next to you and lean into you for as long as you are rubbing his ears. He loves getting treats, but he has not started to take them from our hands. We believe that Baez would do best in a home with a fenced in yard and another dog, not necessarily a greyhound, for companionship and play.
