Take Two?

Loomin is an eighteen month old brindle female. She was registered with the National Greyhound Association and trained to race, however she never officially ran at a track. Not getting to race didn't get this girl down, she has a bright spirit and future as a wonderful pet and companion. She has tested older kid, cat and other breed friendly. Loomin and her sister Rate came to us together from Kansas and we would love to see these two infectious girls stay together for the rest of their lives. They truly enjoy each others company and although they play with the other greyhounds in their playgroup, they do seek each other out. They are very much alike in personality and temperament. She loves toys, whether they squeak or not, and she will play for a very long time. If another greyhound wants her toy or if you try to take her toy, she will willingly give it up. She is very submissive and will not stick up for herself. If you approach her, she will immediately go down to the ground and roll over to give you her belly for rubs. Due to her playful and submissive nature, we will only place her with older kids (10+). She loves to go out for walks, but she is young and needs some practice walking nicely on a leash. She enjoys her treats, but she has not started to take them from our hands. We would love to see Loomin and Rate in a home together furever. If we cannot keep them together, Loomin would make a greyt first greyhound or a wonderful addition to an existing pack.

Small Boy, Big Heart

Eli is a four year old black male. He ran 141 races at Wheeling Downs and Palm Beach Greyhound Parks. He is looking for a family that likes to play and has a rather large collection of toys for him to choose from. He has tested older kid and other large breed safe, however he is not cat or small animal friendly. Eli is the perfect example of good things come in small packages. He is fun and very friendly. He loves to play with the toys, even the ones that no longer squeak. He really likes when you want to play with him and throw the toy. He doesn't bring it back, but he will let you come and take it from him to throw again. He is not toy obsessed, he just enjoys a good toy play session. He gets along greyt with the other greyhounds and he shares nicely. If another greyhound wants his toy, he will let them have it and move onto the closest one. He maybe small, but he has nothing to prove. He loves to do his zoomies and he joins in with the greyhound gang when they start. He will do his zoomies on his own too. He enjoys going out for his walks and once he gets over the "OMG, is that a leash" syndrome, he walks nicely. He loves to get his treats, but he has not started to take them from our hands. Eli would make a greyt first greyhound or a wonderful addition to an existing pack.

Greyt Gal

Carma is a four year old black female. She ran 153 races at Mardi Gras, Orange Park and Daytona Beach Kennel Club. Now she is looking to bring good fortune to her furever family. She has tested older kid and other large breed friendly, however she is not cat or small animal safe. Carma is a all around greyt gal. She is lots of fun and has a bubbly personality. She is going to have some lucky adopter wrapped around her little paw. She enjoys going outside with the other greyhounds in her playgroup and she will initiate the zoomies and the play. She will give them a dainty play bow and off she goes leading the pack. She will play with the toys and she will share with the other greyhounds nicely. But she doesn't need any company to keep herself entertained. She knows how to complete her zoomies all on her own and she even knows how to throw the toy in the air for herself. Due to her playful nature, we will only place her with older kids (10+). She enjoys going out for her walks and once she gets over the excitement of seeing a leash, she walks nicely and calmly. She is quite aware that she is supposed to get a treat and will stare you down until you obey. Carma will make a greyt first greyhound or a wonderful addition to an existing pack.

Amazing

Ironmman is a three year old black male. He ran 124 races at Orange Park and Daytona Beach Greyhound Parks. He is looking to enter a life long commitment with a family that will provide love and affection. He has tested kid and other large breed friendly, however he is not cat or small animal safe. Ironman is a devastatingly handsome greyhound. We know that looks aren't everything, but he has got a greyt personality to accompany is striking look. He is very friendly and outgoing. He has no problem approaching anyone he first meets and he has been known to lean. He gets along with all the other greyhounds in his playgroup and he shares nicely. He does enjoy playing with the toys, but he is not obsessed and is easily distracted. He is really only interested in the ones that squeak and here at the farm they are few and far between. He loves to complete his zoomies and he will do them with everyone or as a solo artist. But once he is done, whether it is playing or zooming, he always comes back to the human. We believe that given his outgoing personality, he would make a wonderful "ambassa-dog" for greyhound adoption. He enjoys going out for walks and he walks nicely on a leash. He even has a little swagger to his walk. He loves getting his treats and he takes the nicely from your hand. Ironman would make a greyt first greyhound or a wonderful addition to an existing pack.

Loves to Play

Zapper is a two year old brindle male. He ran 54 races at Birmingham Greyhound Park. This boy is a player not a racer and would be very happy playing his retirement away. He has tested older kid and other large breed friendly, however she is not cat or small animal safe. Zapper has a lot of playful energy and enjoys showing it off. He loves playing with the other greyhounds in his playgroup, but they are not a necessity for him to have fun. He just needs some toys and a fenced in area to be a big goof. He will initiate the play and the zoomies, but he does share nicely. Due to his playful nature, we will only place him with older kids (10+). He likes getting attention from people and he will let you know. He will give you a nudge or a bump to tell you that he is ready for you to pet him. Beware that once you start, he doesn't really want you to stop. He enjoys going out for a walk, but he could use some practice on a leash. He can be pull a little too much and tends to cross in front of the walker. He loves and expects his treats, but he has not started to take them from our hands. Could Be a Cuddler

Josh is a three year old black male. He ran 99 races at Palm Beach and Daytona Beach Greyhound Parks. Now this affectionate and engaging boy is looking for a fun loving family that would like to be in a committed long-term relationship. He has tested kid and other large breed friendly, however she is not cat or small animal safe. Josh is truly a wonderfully fun, goofy and attentive boy. He loves being around people and prefers the human attention over the company of his own kind. Don't get us wrong, he likes being out with the other greyhounds and he does have fun with them. He does participate in the daily zoomie run and he has been seen initiating. He also loves to play with the toys, even the ones that do not squeak, and he shares nicely. But once he has spent time playing and starts getting attention from the human, he just wants attention from the human. He loves ear rubs and he will occasionally chatter his teeth or puff out his cheeks to let you know he is enjoying it. Due to his friendly and outgoing nature, we believe that he would make a greyt therapy greyhound or "ambassa-dog" candidate. He enjoys going out for walks and he walks nicely on a leash. He will even stand still to let you put on his harness. He has a nice swagger to his walk and when you stop, he will lean on you. He is Ready!
Driver is a four year old white and red male. He ran eight races at Wheeling Downs Greyhound Park. We placed him in a home in New York and he lived there for nine months. However when he saw other dogs on his walks, he would get over excited and bite his walker on the hand. This happened many times. Due to this behavior, he was returned to our agency. He has been with us for two years and has been on Prozac 20mg every morning for the past year and a half. Thanks to a very concerned volunteer who worked with him for the past year and his medication, he is ready to find his furever home. She has taken him out in many different social situations, socialized him with other dogs, walked him on a leash, snuggled with him and has even gotten in his crate with him and he has not displayed any sign of aggression. The only time that he gets upset is when he is in his crate and someone that he does not know comes up to him. But if he meets that same person outside of his crate, even on a leash, he is fine and will go right up to them for attention. Driver has tested older kids and other large breed friendly, however he is not cat or small animal safe. He loves to run and play. We have matched him up with several playmates throughout his time with us and he has never had a problem running and playing with them. He will also throw a toy up in the air and chase it all on his own. He loves getting his backside scratched and will even do a little dance. He loves treats and for months he has been enjoying Nutter Butter cookies thanks to his wonderful volunteer. We loves to go out for a walk and he walks nicely on a leash. Due to his past behavior, we will only place Driver with older kids (13+). His perfect furever home is quiet and patient. It has a fenced in backyard and another dog, not necessarily a greyhound, to play and as a companion. His furever parents have tons of dog experience and must be willing to continue his medication regiment. GAA will be very picky when finding him a furever home and we will want him to go to someone who will maintain contact with the organization. We will miss him terribly.

Super Loving

Copper is a two year old red female. She ran 35 races at Flager, Naples/Ft. Myers and Daytona Greyhound Parks. Now this super sweet girl is looking for a family of her very own and a couch to rest her head. She has tested kid, cat and other breed friendly. Copper is very loving and affectionate. She is one of those subtle kind of girlie hounds. You would be walking around in playgroup, look down and she is there looking up at you with those big love bug eyes. If you rub her ears just right, you can get a big smile from her. She also has a tickle spot on the side of her chest that makes her leg shake. She loves to be in her playgroup with the other greyhounds and she gets along with everyone. She has not started to play with the toys, but she does show some interest when she hears them squeak. We believe that given time, she will be a toy aficionado. She loves to run and takes her daily zoomies seriously. She will do them with the group or on her own and sometimes when everyone is done, she will take an extra victory zoomie around the yard. She enjoys going out for walks, but she could use some practice to not cross in front of the walker. But she listens well and should pick it up very fast. She enjoys getting her treats, but she has not started to take them from our hands. Copper would make a greyt first greyhound or a wonderful addition to an existing pack.

There was only one pup in that litter and he/she has not been registered yet. Now she is ready to find her furever family to baby her for her retirement. She has tested kid and other large breed friendly, however she is not cat or small animal safe. Etnia is just the happiest, friendliest and affectionate girl ever and she loves to be around people. She loves to go out with the other greyhounds and she shares nicely. She gets very excited for our afternoon play time and will do her daily zoomies both with or without the other greyhounds. She loves toys and will even play with the ones that no longer squeak. If there is any trouble in the playgroup, she will run over and fix it with just her presence. She is not pushy or a bully, she just has that Brood Momma confidence that other greyhounds automatically respect. She really enjoys being around people and will become your shadow in the play area. She always greets you with a big smile and a helicopter tail. Her tail is shorter and it seems that she may have had some of it surgically removed, probably due to happy tail. Due to her friendly, outgoing and confident nature, we believe that she would make a greyt therapy greyhound. She enjoys going for walks and can be a little pulley on a leash at first from the excitement. But she settles in nicely and then walks like a champ. She loves to get treats and she takes them nicely from our hands. Etnia would make a greyt first greyhound or a wonderful addition to an existing pack.

Diamond is a two year old brindle female. She is registered with the National Greyhound Association and trained to race, however she never officially competed at a track. She decided that she would retire early and get a jump start on doing zoomies in her furever backyard. She has tested older kid and other large breed friendly, however she is not cat or small animal safe. Diamond is just as cute as a button and don't think that she doesn't know it. She can win you over with just on look and the twinkle in her eyes. She loves being out with the other greyhounds in her playgroup. When they start to play or do zoomies, she will join along. There are even times when she will initiate the play with a cute play bow. She shows way more attention to the toys that still make noise over the ones that have met their doom in the play yard. Due to her playful nature, we will only place her with older kids (5+). Her trainers told us that she knows how to shake and she has done it a couple times, but only once she is comfortable with you. Wonderful Family Greyhound

Jerry is a two year old white and red brindle male. He ran 11 races at Daytona Beach Greyhound Park. Racing around the big oval was not his thing and he has decided to take an early retirement with a nice family. He has tested kid, cat and other breed friendly. Jerry is a calm and engaging greyhound. He enjoys the company of people and would prefer to lean on you to get affection. He has a very "old soul" feel about him for a two year old hound and has that "been here, done that" look in his face. He likes to be out with the other greyhounds in his playgroup and he will join in during the daily zoomies. He does not initiate the zoomies and we have not seen him do them on his own. He has shown some mild interest in toys, but he has not taken one and started to play yet. He would much rather follow the human around the play area. Due to his outgoing and calm nature, we believe that he would make a greyt therapy greyhound or an "ambassa-dog" for greyhound adoption. We also think that he would do well with any type of family in any type of living environment. He loves to go out for walks and he walks very nicely on a leash. He will even stand perfectly still for you to put his harness on him. He enjoys his treats and he has started to take them very gently from our hands. Jerry would make a greyt first greyhound or a wonderful addition to an existing pack.

After all this travel, she is looking for a long term commitment with a loving adoptive family. She has tested kid and other large breed friendly, however she is not cat or small animal safe. While at the track, Cherry has been diagnosed with Keratoconjunctivitis Sicca or Dry Eye. She receives eye drops twice a day and we use warm compresses to clean her eyes. She stays perfectly still for you to administer the drops and clean her eyes. She will need this care for the rest of her life. The drops are not expensive and it takes very little time to do. She is a wonderfully affectionate hound and loves to get attention and affection from people. She gets along greyt with all the other greyhounds in her playgroup and joins in with the daily zooomie run. She has not started to play with toys yet, but she has shown an interest in the squeak. Diamond in the Rough

Leta is a two year old red female. She ran four races at Daytona Beach Greyhound Park. Now she is looking to find a loving furever family that has dog experience and a big fenced in yard. She has tested older kid and some large breed friendly, however she is not cat or small animal safe. Leta is a friendly and outgoing girlie hound who likes to be in charge. She has a dominate personality and needs an experienced dog owner who will set limits and stick to them. She is very sweet and loves the affection and attention of our volunteers. She enjoys getting pets and will stand next to you forever as long as you are petting her. She will even lean on you and has been known to let out a moan or two during some serious ear rubs. She gets along with some of the greyhounds in her playgroups. She likes to be in charge and does best with a mid pack dog, not too weak and not in charge. She loves to play and do her zoomies, and she has no problem initiating either with the other members of the playgroup. She loves toys and she will share them with the other greyhounds. She loves the toys whether they squeak or not. Her furever parents need to provide a large toy collection for this girl. Due to her in charge nature, we will only place her with older kids (12+). We will also recommend that her adoptive family take her to training classes. Don't miss out on her, she is a diamond in the rough and will certainly make her family proud. She loves to go for walks and she walks nicely on a leash. Leta would make a greyt family member to an experienced dog family.

Needs Love

Elton is a two year old black male. He ran 6 races at Daytona Beach Greyhound Park. This boy doesn't appear to have the heart or drive for racing, but he definitely has the heart for the love of a furever family. He has tested older kid, cat and other breed friendly. Elton is a tiny boy with a big heart. He needs time to adjust to new places and new people. He is a little on the shy side and is hesitant with people until he knows what to expect from you. If you approach him to fast, he will tuck his tail and back up. But once he knows you and feels comfortable, he is a super love. He gets along with the other greyhounds in his playgroup. He tends to stay away from the more alpha or playful ones and gravitates towards the calmer greyhounds. He has not shown any interest in toys yet. Even when you squeak one he doesn't look over. Due to his reserved nature and need to have a calm transition environment, we will only place him with older kids (10+). We believe that he would do best with another dog, not necessarily a greyhound, in his home for companionship and to show him how to be a pet. He isn't very thrilled about going out for a walk, but he will go and walks nicely on a leash. If there is another dog walking with him, he does much better. He likes treats, but has not started to take them from our hands. Elton would make a wonderful addition to an existing pack.

Baby Girl

Harley is an eight month old dark bridle female. Yes, she is a puppy!! When she was younger, she broke her right hind. She is completely healed, but she has a slight limp and sometimes holds it up when she is running. She won't be a racer, but she can be a very lucky adopter's best friend. When she meets someone new, she is a little apprehensive. Which due to her age and leaving her litter, is to be expected. She is a little farm pup in the big dog world. Once she gets to know you, she is very affectionate and gives you wonderful puppy kisses. She loves toys and loves to play, but what puppy doesn't? She gets nervous when you first throw the toy, but once it hits the ground she is on it. Due to her age and size, we have not put her in playtime with the big greyhounds. However, she arrived at Our Village with another puppy, five month old female, and she plays nicely with her. She loves to zoom around, however occasionally she will lift up her right leg. When we went to check on her leg, she fell to the group and rolled over for belly rubs. When she knows you, she will show you a goofy side. She will romp around and play bow to you. If you chase her, she will run circles and come back for more. Due to her age, we will only pace her with older kids (10+). When you first take her out for a walk, she hesitates and stops a lot. She will need an adopter that will take their time with her, but not give in to her. Harley will be a wonderful puppy to an experienced greyhound adopter.

Now she needs a special person who will give her the time and support she needs to be successful in her furever home. She has tested other large breed friendly, however she is not cat or small animal safe. Amandaville was placed in a home, but she took over and had to be returned. She has a very strong personality and would do best with other greyhounds in her home with an experienced adopter. She needs someone who is going to set limits with her and stick to them. She also needs a fenced in backyard so she can enjoy her zoomie time and play. She has been at Greyt Acres Farm for a while now and our volunteers have worked with her. They have done an amazing job helping her drop some extra pounds and working on her social skills. It is because of their hard work and dedication that she is ready to find her true forever home. Due to her first placement, we will not place her in a home with kids. She likes kids and has no problem with them, but we do not want her to become alpha over them. She loves to go out for her walks and she walks nicely on a leash. She loves getting treats and she takes them nicely from your hand. We recommend that her new parents take her to obedience training to help her understand that they are in charge. Amandaville would make a wonderful addition to an existing pack.

Old Soul

Sargent is a two year old fawn male. He ran 35 races at Orange Park and Daytona Beach Greyhound Parks. Now he is looking forward to sleeping his retirement days away on a comfy couch. He has tested kid, cat and other breed friendly. Sargent is a very mellow boy for his young years. He has a very "old soul" feel about him, you can see it in his eyes. He enjoys being with the other greyhounds in his playgroup, but he would much rather be with the human. He will follow you around the play area and give you those big beautiful eyes. You just cannot help but want to give him love and affection. He has not showed much interest in toys, except the squeaky noise does get his attention. But he does join in on the daily zoomies. He does not initiate the running and he will do them on his own. If another greyhound wants your attention, he will simply walk away and wait for his turn. We believe that he would make a greyt therapy greyhound candidate and that he would love the attention from the work. He enjoys going out for walks and he walks nicely on a leash. He will even stand perfectly still while you are putting on his harness. He likes getting his treats, but he is not demanding about it and he has not taken them from our hands. Sargent would make a greyt first greyhound or a wonderful addition to an existing pack.

He's a Kisser

Dez is a three year old black male. He ran 79 races at Sanford/Orlando and Daytona Beach Greyhound Park. Now this happy go lucky big boy wants nothing more than his own baby pool and someone to smooch. He has tested older kid, cat and other breed friendly. Dez is very friendly and enjoys the company of other greyhounds and people equally. This boy has never had a bad day in his life. Everything is just perfect in "Dez's World" and his spirit is contagious. He enjoys the company of the other greyhounds in his playgroup and he shares nicely. He likes to play with toys, especially the squeaky kind. If another greyhound wants a toy that he has, he will simply walk away and let them take it. He absolutely loves the baby pool. You can tell that it is his happy place. If there is water in the pool, it is very hard to get him to get out. Due to his active and playful nature, we will only place him in a home with older kids (10+). He likes going out for walks and once he gets over the excitement of seeing a leash in your hand, he walks nicely. He enjoys getting his treats and he takes them nicely from our hands. Dez would make a greyt first greyhound or a wonderful addition to an existing pack.

She's a Keeper!

Reagan is a two year old white and black ticked female. She ran 64 races at Daytona Beach Kennel Club. She would love to find a furever home with a lot of love and toys. She tested kid, cat and other breed friendly. Reagan is outgoing and social. She is always happy to see our volunteers and is extremely happy when they are walking up to her. She is eager to go out and spend time with them. She loves being out with the other greyhounds in her playgroup and gets along with everyone from the shyest to the most alpha. She does not initiate the play, but she has no trouble joining in or joining the zoomies. She also has no trouble playing or zooming by herself. She likes the toys, but is bored with the ones that do not make any noise. If another greyhound wants the toy she has, she gets playful and runs away with it. If the greyhound is more insistent, she will let them have it and find another. Due to her social nature, we believe that she would make a greyt "abassa-dog" for greyhound adoption. She enjoys going out for walks, but could use some practice to not cross in front of her walker. She enjoys getting treats, but she has not started to take them from our hands. Reagan would make a greyt first greyhound or a wonderful addition to an existing pack.

Your Shadow

Danny is a three year old black male. He ran 85 races at Dubuque, Sarasota and Daytona Beach Greyhound Park. Now that he did all that travel, he is looking for a family who wants a greyt furever boy in their lives. He has tested kid and other large breed friendly, however he is not cat or small animal safe. Danny is just a pleasure to be around. He has a very "old soul" kind of feel about him and he can win you over with just one look from those big beautiful eyes. He enjoys getting your attention and affection. He will stand by your side and lean on you for as long as your are petting him. He will be some lucky adopter's "Velcro" boy. He enjoys playing with the other greyhounds and does share nicely. He likes the toys, but he tends to stick to the ones that will squeak. But he is not toy obsessed and he is definitely capable of entertaining himself. He likes to join in with the zoomies, but he is not an initiator. He does not like greyhounds that tend to be bullies. He would much rather be around the goofy playful greyhounds. We believe that with his outgoing and confident, but not pushy, personality, he would make a greyt therapy greyhound candidate. He loves to go out for walks and once he gets into it he walks nicely on a leash. When he returns from his walk, he does expect his treat and will watch you intensely until you get it for him. Then he takes it nicely from your hand. Danny would make a greyt first greyhound or a wonderful addition to an existing pack.

Playful Spirit
Marky is an almost two year old brindle male. He ran seven races at Sarasota Greyhound Park. He has decided that running the oval was not for him and would like to settle down with a fun family. He has tested older kid and other large breed friendly, however he is not cat or small animal safe. Marky has a playful spirit that is very contagious and will put a smile on your face. He is interested in the toys and when he hears a squeaker, he gets so happy. If he finds a squeaker in the toy, he lets you know. He will take it to a spot alone and squeak away. Due to his playful nature, we will only place him with older kids (10+). He gets along greyt with the other greyhounds and he shares nicely. If another greyhound wants the toy he has, he will let them take it and move on to another toy. This boy is a lover, not a fighter. He likes going out for a walk and he walks nicely on a leash. He is a leaner and if you move your body, this boy may just fall over. He likes getting his treats, but he has not started to take them from our hands. Marky would make a greyt first greyhound or a wonderful addition to an existing pack.

Needs Some Time

John-John is a two year old red male. He ran 30 races at Orange Park and Daytona Beach Kennel Club. After his short career chasing the lure he is looking to chase rabbits in his dreams. He has tested older kid, cat and other breed friendly. John-John is timid and needs time to adjust to new places and to new people. Once he warms up to you and knows what to expect, he likes being with you and will follow you around. He enjoys being with the other greyhounds in his playgroup and he will join in with the zoomies, but he will stay away from more alpha greyhounds. He has not shown any interest in toys, even if you squeak one. Due to his need to have adjustment time and a quiet environment, we will only place him with older kids (10+). We believe that he would do best in a home with another dog, not necessarily a greyhound, to follow and learn from, and a fenced in yard. He will go out for walks, but he walks better if he has another greyhound out on the walk with him. He does like getting treats, but he has not started to take the from our hands. John-John would make a wonderful addition to an existing pack and a velcro-hound for one lucky adopter.

I Wanna Play!

Lydia is a two year old brindle female. She ran 24 races at Orange Park and Daytona Beach Greyhound Parks. This girl just wants to have fun and she is looking forward to a long and playful retirement. She has tested older kid, cat and other breed friendly. Elva is very friendly and outgoing. The only thing she loves more than people is running around and doing her daily zoomies. She has no problem either doing the on her own or initiating them with the other greyhounds in her playgroup. She will give them the cutest play bow, with her butt in the air and her tail wagging, to let them know she is ready to go. She loves to play with toys, even the ones that no longer squeak. She will keep herself occupied by throwing them in the air and catching them, then running around with it in her mouth. Due to her playful energy, we will only place her with older kids (10+). We believe that she would do best with a family that has a fenced in backyard and plenty of toys for her entertainment. She likes to go out for walks and once she gets over the "OMG!! Is that a leash in your hand?" moment, she walks nicely on a leash. She loves to get her treats, but she has not taken them from our hands. Take Two?

Rate is an eighteen month old brindle female. She is registered with the National Greyhound Association and trained to race, however she never officially competed at a track. She has tested older kid, cat and other breed friendly. Rate arrived to Our Village with her littermate sister Loomin. These two girls are two peas in a pod and we would love for them to go home together. If you are looking for two very attached and very cute girlie greyhounds, look no further. These two are very much alike and if you read their two descriptions, you will see there is very little difference. She loves to play with the other greyhounds in her playgroup and she shares nicely, but she does seek out her sister. She loves to play with toys whether they squeak or not. She will spend a lot of time throwing them in the air and catching them. Her and her sister love to do zoomies together and they are very serious about their run. Like her sister if you were to approach her to pet her, she will go down to the ground, roll over and give you her belly for rubs. She is very submissive with the other greyhounds and with people. Due to her playful and submissive nature, we will only place her with older kids (10+). She enjoys going for walks, but she does need practice walking nicely on a leash. She likes to get her treats, but has not started to take them from our hands. We would love to place these sisters together but if we cannot, Rate would make a greyt first greyhound or a wonderful addition to an existing pack.

Big Boy, Big Heart

Fast is a an almost two year old white and black male (cowdog). He ran 9 races at Dubuque and Daytona Beach Greyhound Parks. Now this big boy wants nothing more than a fun furever family with a back yard and lots of toys. He has tested older kid and other large breed friendly, however he is not cat or small animal safe. Fast is a big boy with a race weight of 78 pounds, that means that his pet weight will easily be in the mid to high 80's. He is a lot of greyhound. His body is big, but his heart is bigger!! He is very loving and affectionate. He loves to be around people and if you rub his bum, he will do a goofy dance. He enjoys being with the other greyhounds in his playgroup and he shares nicely. He is big, but he doesn't throw his weight around. He loves to do his zoomies either alone or with the other dogs, and he will initiate them by giving them a happy play bow. He enjoys playing with the toys, even the ones that don't squeak, but he will let you take it from him. If another greyhound wants a toy that he has, he will let them have it and simply walk away. Due to his playful nature, we are looking for a home with a fenced in yard and older kids (5+). He likes to go for walks and once he gets over his "OMG!! You have a leash in your hands!!" excitement, he walks nicely on a leash. He does know that once he returns from his walk, he gets a treat and he takes them nicely from your hand. Such a Sweet Boy

Nite is a seven year old black male. He ran 41 races at Gulf Greyhound Park. He has tested older kid, cat and other breed friendly. Nite came to Our Village through another adoption group. They placed him and he started to show signs of severe thunder phobia. He was very reactive towards people when they asked him to go out or do other tasks during a storm. We brought him to the farm and found him to be a delightful, fun, loving and sweet boy who didn't like thunder storms or even rain storms. We have worked with him over the year that he was been with us and he is much better during storms. Instead of the panting, quivering, drooling wide-eyed panicked greyhound he was, he is now able to lie down in a crate and pant less than he did before. We know that he needs his own space during rain, thunder and lightening, hail and fireworks. We know that he needs to be crated or put in an X-pen where he can feel safe and know that no one will bother him. We know that he is better during severe storms and fireworks with some type of mild sedation, like a benadryl. Due to his storm/fireworks phobia, we will not place him with kids. He likes kids and has not problem being around them, but we feel that he would do best in an environment where they only were visitors. Nite loves being outside with the other greyhounds in his playgroup and participates in the daily zoomies. He will initiate play or keep himself occupied. He loves to go out for a walk and he walks nicely on a leash. He knows that when he returns from playing or walking he gets a treat and he takes them nicely from your hand. We are looking for an experienced greyhound adopter who understands and will respect Nite's fear.

This boy is a lover, not a racer, and is looking to enter into a long-term commitment with a loving furever family. He has tested older kid, cat and other breed friendly. Edison is your typical goofy and fun male greyhound. He absolutely loves toys, big toys, little toys, fuzzy toys, smooth toys, squeaky toys, crinkle toys, all toys. He isn't obsessed with them and will engage with the other dogs and volunteers, but he will entertain himself it there is a toy around. He loves being around the other greyhounds in his playgroup and he shares nicely. He will initiate playtime and zoomies, but he does not like being around pushy or alpha greyhounds. If another greyhound tries to throw his weight around with him, he simply walks away. He loves to get attention and he will show you his appreciation with a big sloppy wet kiss. Due to his playful nature, we will only place him with older kids (10+). He enjoys going out for a walk to stretch those long legs and he walks nicely on a leash. He knows that when he gets back he is supposed to get a treat and he will give you the stink eye until he gets one. He has not started to take treats from our hands. Sweet Angel

Angel is a two year old red female. She ran 19 races at Orange Park, Mardi Gras and Daytona Beach Greyhound Parks. After all that travel during her short career, she is ready to settle down with a committed family. She tested older kid, cat and other breed friendly. Angel is a very sweet and unassuming girlie hound. When she first meets you she can be a little hesitant, but once she gets to know you she will follow you around in the paddock without you even knowing that she is there. She doesn't demand your attention but when you give it to her, you just cannot stop. It was hard to get her picture for her profile because she stayed so close to us. She likes being with the other greyhounds and she gets along with everyone in her playgroup. She will occasionally join in on the zoomies, but she never initiates. She has not started to play with toys and if you squeak one, she hardly looks over. She doesn't like the pushy hounds and will walk away from them. Due to her reserve nature, we will only place her with older kids (10+). We believe that she would do best in a home with another dog, not necessarily a greyhound, to follow and be her friend. Now he wants to find a furever home with plenty of room to play and a family that will supply him with all the toys his heart desires. He has tested older kid and other large breed friendly, but he is not cat or small animal safe. Bogey is addicted to toys. He will go from toy to toy to toy with a strong passion to find one that will squeak. He likes being with the other greyhounds in his playgroup, but he does not find them necessary. He is quite capable of entertaining himself. He will do his zoomies by himself and he will even throw the toy in the air and catch it. When he is in there with other greyhounds, he shares nicely and will play and zoom with them. If he has a toy that another greyhound wants, he will simply take the toy and run away with it. Due to his playful nature, we will only place him with older kids (10+). His perfect home has a fenced in backyard and another dog, not necessarily a greyhound, for plenty of play time. He likes to go out for walks, and he could use some practice not pulling on the leash. He is a smart boy and knows when he is supposed to get a treat. He gets excited, but he takes them gently from your hand. Bogey would make a wonderful addition to an existing pack.
