Payton is a two year old brindle male. He ran 38 races at Orange Park and Daytona Beach Greyhound Parks. Now he just wants a family to call his own and a big toy bin full of stuffies. He has tested older kid, cat and other breed friendly. Payton is very sweet and loves to engage with the volunteers in his playgroup. This boy is a hugs love bug and will lean on you for extra attention. He is not pushy and if another greyhound wants your attention, he will simply walk away. He loves to join in on the group zoomies, but he doesn't need a group and will do them on his own. He will also play on his own and can keep himself occupied for quite some time. He likes being with the other greyhounds in his playgroup and he shares very nicely. If another greyhound wants a toy that he has, he will let them have it and moves on to another. Due to his playful nature, we will only place him with older kids (5+). He likes to go out for his walks and he walks nicely on a leash. He does know and expects to get a treat upon his return. He will wait patiently and watch your every move till he gets one. He has not started to take his treats from our hands yet. Toy Addict

Bogey is a three year old black male. He ran 71 races at Orange Park and Daytona Beach Greyhound Park. Now he wants to find a furever home with plenty of room to play and a family that will supply him with all the toys his heart desires. He has tested older kid and other large breed friendly, but he is not cat or small animal safe. Bogey is addicted to toys. He will go from toy to toy to toy with a strong passion to find one that will squeak. He likes being with the other greyhounds in his playgroup, but he does not find them necessary. He is quite capable of entertaining himself. He will do his zoomies by himself and he will even throw the toy in the air and catch it. When he is in there with other greyhounds, he shares nicely and will play and zoom with them. If he has a toy that another greyhound wants, he will simply take the toy and run away with it. Due to his playful nature, we will only place him with older kids (10+). His perfect home has a fenced in backyard and another dog, not necessarily a greyhound, for plenty of play time. He likes to go out for walks, and he could use some practice not pulling on the leash. He is a smart boy and knows when he is supposed to get a treat. He gets excited, but he takes them gently from your hand. Bogey would make a wonderful addition to an existing pack.

Princess

Talisha is an almost three year old brindle female. She ran 22 races at Tri-State Greyhound Park. Now this pretty princess would love to run around her furever yard and toss squeaky toys in the air. We placed her brother Mike and her sisters Beth and Jeannie in their furever homes. She has tested older kid, cat and other breed friendly. Talisha is sweet and loves to get your attention, but she is not pushy and she lets the others get to the human for pets. She likes to be out with the other greyhounds in her playgroup and she is always ready to start the zoomie run. She will initiate play and zoomies with the others with a quick play bow and then she takes off. She likes the toys, even the ones that no longer squeak, but she does prefer your attention over them and will also let another greyhound have the toy she is using. Due to her playful nature, we will only place her with older kids (5+). She loves to go for walks and once she gets over her sheer excitement of seeing a leash, she settles down and walks nicely. When she returns from playtime or her walk, she knows that she is supposed to get her treat. She will wait patiently, staring you down with those sad eyes, until you give her one or two or three treats, and she takes them gently from your hand. Talisha would make a greyt first greyhound or a wonderful addition to an existing pack.

Take Two?

Loomin is an eighteen month old brindle female. She was registered with the National Greyhound Association and trained to race, however she never officially ran at a track. Not getting to race didn't get this girl down, she has a bright spirit and future as a wonderful pet and companion. She has tested older kid, cat and other breed friendly. Loomin and her sister Rate came to us together from Kansas and we would love to see these two infectious girls stay together for the rest of their lives. They truly enjoy each others company and although they play with the other greyhounds in their playgroup, they do seek each other out. They are very much alike in personality and temperament. She loves toys, whether they squeak or not, and she will play for a very long time. If another greyhound wants her toy or if you try to take her toy, she will willingly give it up. She is very submissive and will not stick up for herself. If you approach her, she will immediately go down to the ground and roll over to give you her belly for rubs. Due to her playful and submissive nature, we will only place her with older kids (10+). She loves to go out for walks, but she is young and needs some practice walking nicely on a leash. She enjoys her treats, but she has not started to take them from our hands. We would love to see Loomin and Rate in a home together furever. John-John is a two year old red male. He ran 30 races at Orange Park and Daytona Beach Kennel Club. After his short career chasing the lure he is looking to chase rabbits in his dreams. He has tested older kid, cat and other breed friendly. John-John is timid and needs time to adjust to new places and to new people. Once he warms up to you and knows what to expect, he likes being with you and will follow you around. He enjoys being with the other greyhounds in his playgroup and he will join in with the zoomies, but he will stay away from more alpha greyhounds. He has not shown any interest in toys, even if you squeak one. Due to his need to have adjustment time and a quiet environment, we will only place him with older kids (10+). We believe that he would do best in a home with another dog, not necessarily a greyhound, to follow and learn from, and a fenced in yard. He will go out for walks, but he walks better if he has another greyhound out on the walk with him. He does like getting treats, but he has not started to take the from our hands. She has tested kid, cat and other breed friendly. Judy has a sweet and affectionate side. She loves to stand by your side and lean into you for attention. She enjoys being out with the other greyhounds in her playgroup and participates in the zoomies and play. She will even initiate the zoomies and the play, but she inevitably ends up by your side. She likes to play with toys, even the ones that have lost the ability to squeak. If another greyhound wants her toy, she will walk away and find another toy. We believe that with her social and engaging personality plus her love of all things human and her calm disposition, she would make a greyt therapy greyhound candidate. He actually doesn't need the other greyhounds to breakout into a three circle zoomie run. He is very capable of entertaining himself with or without toys. He likes playing with toys, even the ones that don't squeak anymore. If another greyhound wants the toy that he has, he will take it and run away. He likes getting attention from the person in the playgroup and will lean on you as you rub his ears. He is very friendly and social. She will give them the cutest play bow, with her butt in the air and her tail wagging, to let them know she is ready to go. She loves to play with toys, even the ones that no longer squeak. She will keep herself occupied by throwing them in the air and catching them, then running around with it in her mouth. Due to her playful energy, we will only place her with older kids (10+). We believe that she would do best with a family that has a fenced in backyard and plenty of toys for her entertainment. She likes to go out for walks and once she gets over the "OMG!! Take Two?

Rate is an eighteen month old brindle female. She is registered with the National Greyhound Association and trained to race, however she never officially competed at a track. She has tested older kid, cat and other breed friendly. Rate arrived to Our Village with her littermate sister Loomin. These two girls are two peas in a pod and we would love for them to go home together. If you are looking for two very attached and very cute girlie greyhounds, look no further. These two are very much alike and if you read their two descriptions, you will see there is very little difference. She loves to play with the other greyhounds in her playgroup and she shares nicely, but she does seek out her sister. She loves to play with toys whether they squeak or not. She will spend a lot of time throwing them in the air and catching them. Her and her sister love to do zoomies together and they are very serious about their run. Like her sister if you were to approach her to pet her, she will go down to the ground, roll over and give you her belly for rubs. She is very submissive with the other greyhounds and with people. Due to her playful and submissive nature, we will only place her with older kids (10+). She enjoys going for walks, but she does need practice walking nicely on a leash. She likes to get her treats, but has not started to take them from our hands. We would love to place these sisters together but if we cannot, Rate would make a greyt first greyhound or a wonderful addition to an existing pack.

Petite and Sweet

Fancy is a twenty month old dark brindle female. She ran four races at Daytona Beach Kennel Club. If this girl was not built for racing, she is definitely built for lovin'. She has tested kid, cat and other breed friendly. Fancy is young and has a lot of innocent playfulness about her. She likes to have your attention and lets you know. She will slink in between you and "the crowd" to be by your side. But if another greyhound is more aggressive about getting your attention, she walks away. She loves being with the other greyhounds in her playgroup, but you can tell that she is still kind of figuring it all out. She is very playful with them and gives them a big play bow to start the zoomies. If no one responds to her, she has no problem keeping herself entertained. She likes to play with all the toys, even the ones that no longer have working squeakers. Due to her age and her playful puppy nature, we will only place her in a home with older kids (10+). She loves to go for a walk and she is excited to see you holding a leash. She does walk nicely once she gets over her initial excitement. She likes to get treats, but has not taken them from our hands. She is the example of Good Thing Come In Little Packages. This Girl is Fun

Tammy is a five year old black female. She ran 137 races at Flager, Naples/Ft. Myers and Daytona Beach Greyhound Parks. Now she would love to race into your heart and around her new family's backyard. She has tested older kid and other large breed friendly, however she is not cat or small animal safe. Tammy is a lot of fun. She is incredibly fast doing her zoomies and she will do them with or without any other greyhounds. She is in love with toys and will make one squeak until it squeaks no more. She gets along with all the other greyhounds and she shares nicely. If it is a toy that does not make a noise, she gives it up. But if it is a toy that squeaks and she is enjoying herself, she will take it and run away. Due to her playful and active nature, we will only place her with older kids (10+). We think that she would do best in a home with an active family with a healthy toy budget and a fenced in backyard. She likes to go for a walk and once she calms down, she walks nicely on a leash. Too Cute for Words

Brenda is a three year old white and black ticked female. She ran 83 races at Southland and Tri-State Greyhound Parks. Now all this girl would like is to a pampered princess puppy in her furever home. She has tested older kid, cat and other breed friendly. Brenda is very submissive and has no problem letting the other greyhounds take the lead. Once she gets used to you, she will want your attention and plenty of belly rubs. She will drop to the ground and immediately roll over on her back to give you her belly, and don't stop because she will paw at you for more. She gets along with the other greyhounds, but she is the low girl in the pack. She has not started to play with toys but if you squeak one, she looks over with her ears up. If you throw the toy, she runs the other way. Due to her submissive personality, we will only place her in a home with older kids (10+). We believe that she would do best in a home with another dog, not necessarily a greyhound, for play and companionship. She doesn't mind going for a walk, but she prefers to walk with another greyhound. If she hears a loud or strange noise, she will stop walking and it takes a little time for her to get going again. She likes getting treats but she does not take them from our hands. Brenda would make a wonderful addition to an existing pack.

He is Ready!
Driver is a four year old white and red male. He ran eight races at Wheeling Downs Greyhound Park. We placed him in a home in New York and he lived there for nine months. However when he saw other dogs on his walks, he would get over excited and bite his walker on the hand. This happened many times. Due to this behavior, he was returned to our agency. He has been with us for two years and has been on Prozac 20mg every morning for the past year and a half. Thanks to a very concerned volunteer who worked with him for the past year and his medication, he is ready to find his furever home. She has taken him out in many different social situations, socialized him with other dogs, walked him on a leash, snuggled with him and has even gotten in his crate with him and he has not displayed any sign of aggression. The only time that he gets upset is when he is in his crate and someone that he does not know comes up to him. But if he meets that same person outside of his crate, even on a leash, he is fine and will go right up to them for attention. Driver has tested older kids and other large breed friendly, however he is not cat or small animal safe. He loves to run and play. We have matched him up with several playmates throughout his time with us and he has never had a problem running and playing with them. He will also throw a toy up in the air and chase it all on his own. He loves getting his backside scratched and will even do a little dance. He loves treats and for months he has been enjoying Nutter Butter cookies thanks to his wonderful volunteer. We loves to go out for a walk and he walks nicely on a leash. Due to his past behavior, we will only place Driver with older kids (13+). His perfect furever home is quiet and patient. It has a fenced in backyard and another dog, not necessarily a greyhound, to play and as a companion. His furever parents have tons of dog experience and must be willing to continue his medication regiment. GAA will be very picky when finding him a furever home and we will want him to go to someone who will maintain contact with the organization. We will miss him terribly.

He loves being around the other greyhounds in his playgroup and he shares nicely. He will initiate playtime and zoomies, but he does not like being around pushy or alpha greyhounds. Amandaville is a four year old red female. She ran 43 races at Orange Park and Tri-State Greyhound Parks. Now she needs a special person who will give her the time and support she needs to be successful in her furever home. She has tested other large breed friendly, however she is not cat or small animal safe. Amandaville was placed in a home, but she took over and had to be returned. She has a very strong personality and would do best with other greyhounds in her home with an experienced adopter. She needs someone who is going to set limits with her and stick to them. She also needs a fenced in backyard so she can enjoy her zoomie time and play. She has been at Greyt Acres Farm for a while now and our volunteers have worked with her. They have done an amazing job helping her drop some extra pounds and working on her social skills. It is because of their hard work and dedication that she is ready to find her true forever home. Due to her first placement, we will not place her in a home with kids. She likes kids and has no problem with them, but we do not want her to become alpha over them. She loves to go out for her walks and she walks nicely on a leash. She loves getting treats and she takes them nicely from your hand. Such a Sweet Boy

Nite is a seven year old black male. He ran 41 races at Gulf Greyhound Park. He has tested older kid, cat and other breed friendly. Nite came to Our Village through another adoption group. They placed him and he started to show signs of severe thunder phobia. He was very reactive towards people when they asked him to go out or do other tasks during a storm. We brought him to the farm and found him to be a delightful, fun, loving and sweet boy who didn't like thunder storms or even rain storms. We have worked with him over the year that he was been with us and he is much better during storms. Instead of the panting, quivering, drooling wide-eyed panicked greyhound he was, he is now able to lie down in a crate and pant less than he did before. We know that he needs his own space during rain, thunder and lightening, hail and fireworks. We know that he needs to be crated or put in an X-pen where he can feel safe and know that no one will bother him. We know that he is better during severe storms and fireworks with some type of mild sedation, like a benadryl. Due to his storm/fireworks phobia, we will not place him with kids. He likes kids and has not problem being around them, but we feel that he would do best in an environment where they only were visitors. Nite loves being outside with the other greyhounds in his playgroup and participates in the daily zoomies. He will initiate play or keep himself occupied. He loves to go out for a walk and he walks nicely on a leash. He knows that when he returns from playing or walking he gets a treat and he takes them nicely from your hand. We are looking for an experienced greyhound adopter who understands and will respect Nite's fear.

Greyt Guy

Baez is a two year old red brindle male. He ran 3 races at Daytona Beach Greyhound Park and his last two races he was not in the picture. Needless to say he was built for the couch. He has tested older kid and other large breed friendly, however he is not cat or small animal safe. Baez has a huge heart and loves to show you his greyt personality. He loves to play with the other greyhounds and he shares nicely. If another greyhound wants his toy, he will pick it up and run around with it. He loves to do his zoomies and he will try to get the other greyhounds to join in with him. But if no one gives into his awkwardly cute play bow, he will take off and complete his zoomies all on his own. He has ADTD, Attention Deficit Toy Disorder, and will go from toy to toy to toy trying to find the right one. He will even pick up fluff thinking that he can get it to squeak. Due to his playful nature, we will only place him with older children (10+). He likes to go out for walks, but he could use some practice on a leash. He enjoys getting affection and will stand next to you and lean into you for as long as you are rubbing his ears. He loves getting treats, but he has not started to take them from our hands. We believe that Baez would do best in a home with a fenced in yard and another dog, not necessarily a greyhound, for companionship and play.

Needs Love

Elton is a two year old black male. He ran 6 races at Daytona Beach Greyhound Park. This boy doesn't appear to have the heart or drive for racing, but he definitely has the heart for the love of a furever family. He has tested older kid, cat and other breed friendly. Elton is a tiny boy with a big heart. He needs time to adjust to new places and new people. He is a little on the shy side and is hesitant with people until he knows what to expect from you. If you approach him to fast, he will tuck his tail and back up. But once he knows you and feels comfortable, he is a super love. He gets along with the other greyhounds in his playgroup. He tends to stay away from the more alpha or playful ones and gravitates towards the calmer greyhounds. He has not shown any interest in toys yet. Even when you squeak one he doesn't look over. Due to his reserved nature and need to have a calm transition environment, we will only place him with older kids (10+). We believe that he would do best with another dog, not necessarily a greyhound, in his home for companionship and to show him how to be a pet. He isn't very thrilled about going out for a walk, but he will go and walks nicely on a leash. If there is another dog walking with him, he does much better. He likes treats, but has not started to take them from our hands. Elton would make a wonderful addition to an existing pack.

Loves to Play

Zapper is a two year old brindle male. He ran 54 races at Birmingham Greyhound Park. This boy is a player not a racer and would be very happy playing his retirement away. He has tested older kid and other large breed friendly, however she is not cat or small animal safe. Zapper has a lot of playful energy and enjoys showing it off. He loves playing with the other greyhounds in his playgroup, but they are not a necessity for him to have fun. He just needs some toys and a fenced in area to be a big goof. He will initiate the play and the zoomies, but he does share nicely. Due to his playful nature, we will only place him with older kids (10+). He likes getting attention from people and he will let you know. He will give you a nudge or a bump to tell you that he is ready for you to pet him. Beware that once you start, he doesn't really want you to stop. He enjoys going out for a walk, but he could use some practice on a leash. He can be pull a little too much and tends to cross in front of the walker. He loves and expects his treats, but he has not started to take them from our hands. Zapper would make a greyt first greyhound or a wonderful addition to an existing pack.

ICEE - ADOPTED

Pup At Heart!
United is an almost two year old brindle male. He is registered with the National Greyhound Association and trained to race, however he never officially competed. Now he is looking to run and play with his furever family in their backard. He tested older kid and other large breed friendly, however he is not cat or small animal safe. United is just a big puppy at heart. There are times that he gets unsure of what you expect from him and he just sits down. He did not understand a harness and when we tried to put it on him, he went down to the ground. Due to his puppy like nature and uncertain demeanor, we will only place him with older kids (13+). He is a big boy. He is not tall but he is very, very thick. He gets along with the other greyhounds and he shares nicely. He is definitely a fan of toys, any toys. He will initiate play with the other greyhounds by a play bow and running away. He like to go for walks, but he could use some practice on a leash. He likes getting a cookie, but he does not take them from our hands. We believe that he would do best in a home with a dog experienced adopter with another dog, not necessarily a greyhound, in his home to show him the ropes. United would make a wonderful addition to an existing pack.

Wonderful Family Greyhound

Jerry is a two year old white and red brindle male. He ran 11 races at Daytona Beach Greyhound Park. Racing around the big oval was not his thing and he has decided to take an early retirement with a nice family. He has tested kid, cat and other breed friendly. Jerry is a calm and engaging greyhound. He enjoys the company of people and would prefer to lean on you to get affection. He has a very "old soul" feel about him for a two year old hound and has that "been here, done that" look in his face. He likes to be out with the other greyhounds in his playgroup and he will join in during the daily zoomies. He does not initiate the zoomies and we have not seen him do them on his own. He has shown some mild interest in toys, but he has not taken one and started to play yet. He would much rather follow the human around the play area. Due to his outgoing and calm nature, we believe that he would make a greyt therapy greyhound or an "ambassa-dog" for greyhound adoption. We also think that he would do well with any type of family in any type of living environment. He loves to go out for walks and he walks very nicely on a leash. He will even stand perfectly still for you to put his harness on him. He enjoys his treats and he has started to take them very gently from our hands. Jerry would make a greyt first greyhound or a wonderful addition to an existing pack.

A Lover

Icee is a two year old red male. He is registered with the National Greyhound Association and trained to race, however he never officially competed. This boy just wants someone to love him as much as he is going to love them. He has tested older kid and other large breed friendly, however he is not cat or small animal safe. Icee is a wonderfully affectionate and lovable boy who just wants to be around you. When he first meets you, he likes to take his time to see what you are about and what you expect. Once you give him a little time and space, he will become your shadow. He loves being outside with the other greyhounds in his playgroup. He enjoys doing his zoomies, but has not initiated them or done them on his own. He has not started to play with toys, but he shows a lot of interest if they squeak or if you throw one for him. If another greyhound gets to the toy at the same time he does, he will let the other greyhound get it and walks away. He also likes to spend time with the human in his playgroup, and will not do a zoomie or two if he can be around you. He likes going for walks and he stands still while you put on his harness. He walks calmly, but he does wander in front of the walker. He likes getting treats, but has not started to take them from your hands. Icee would make a greyt first greyhound or a wonderful addition to an existing pack.

Greyt Boy!

Hibby is a two year old black male. He ran 27 races at Tri-State Greyhound Park. He thought that sleeping all day and just running zoomies in a furever backyard was more his speed, so he retired early. He has tested kid, cat and other breed friendly. Hibby has an outgoing and friendly personality. He enjoys being around the volunteers in the playgroup and will come over to get attention and affection. He isn't a leaner, but he will linger around you until you give in and pet him. He likes being out with the other greyhounds and he shares nicely. If another greyhound wants something that he has, he simply walks away. He is a lover, not a fighter. He has started to play with toys. He loves the ones that make noise and if they do not squeak, he has not time or interest in them. He shows real enjoyment when he is doing his daily zoomies. He will do them on his own or with another greyhound and he will initiate them. Due to his wonderful personality, we believe that he would make a greyt candidate for a therapy greyhound. He likes to go out for walks and he walks nicely on a leash. He loves getting treats, but he has not started to take them from our hands. Hibby would make a greyt first greyhound or a wonderful addition to an existing pack.

Greyt Gal

Carma is a four year old black female. She ran 153 races at Mardi Gras, Orange Park and Daytona Beach Kennel Club. Now she is looking to bring good fortune to her furever family. She has tested older kid and other large breed friendly, however she is not cat or small animal safe. Carma is a all around greyt gal. She is lots of fun and has a bubbly personality. She is going to have some lucky adopter wrapped around her little paw. She enjoys going outside with the other greyhounds in her playgroup and she will initiate the zoomies and the play. She will give them a dainty play bow and off she goes leading the pack. She will play with the toys and she will share with the other greyhounds nicely. But she doesn't need any company to keep herself entertained. She knows how to complete her zoomies all on her own and she even knows how to throw the toy in the air for herself. Due to her playful nature, we will only place her with older kids (10+). She enjoys going out for her walks and once she gets over the excitement of seeing a leash, she walks nicely and calmly. She is quite aware that she is supposed to get a treat and will stare you down until you obey. Carma will make a greyt first greyhound or a wonderful addition to an existing pack.

Brains and Beauty

Shakira is a three year old white and fawn female. She ran 141 races at Naples/Ft. Myers, Sanford/Orlando and Daytona Beach Greyhound Parks. This beautiful girl is looking to find a family with an unlimited supply of toys. She has tested older kid and other large breed safe, however she is not cat or small animal safe. Shakira is a player and she can find a squeaky in a toy in seconds. She has not started to destroy the toys, but we see a stuffy killer in the making. She gets along with all the other greyhounds in her playgroup and she shares nicely. She does suffer from toy-mania, she goes from toy to toy to toy. She initiates playtime and zoomies with a fun bow. She is a tease and will play keep away from the person. Due to her playful nature, we will only place her with older kids (10+). This girl knows she is beautiful and can wrap you around her little paw. Show this girl a leash and get ready for her to show you some excitement. She loves to go for walks and once she settles down, she walks nicely on a leash. She enjoys her treats and she has started to take them nicely from our hands. She would do best with an active family that will include her in their activities and with a backyard for play. She's a Keeper!

Reagan is a two year old white and black ticked female. She ran 64 races at Daytona Beach Kennel Club. She would love to find a furever home with a lot of love and toys. She tested kid, cat and other breed friendly. Reagan is outgoing and social. She is always happy to see our volunteers and is extremely happy when they are walking up to her. She is eager to go out and spend time with them. She loves being out with the other greyhounds in her playgroup and gets along with everyone from the shyest to the most alpha. She does not initiate the play, but she has no trouble joining in or joining the zoomies. She also has no trouble playing or zooming by herself. She likes the toys, but is bored with the ones that do not make any noise. If another greyhound wants the toy she has, she gets playful and runs away with it. If the greyhound is more insistent, she will let them have it and find another. Due to her social nature, we believe that she would make a greyt "abassa-dog" for greyhound adoption. She enjoys going out for walks, but could use some practice to not cross in front of her walker. She enjoys getting treats, but she has not started to take them from our hands. Reagan would make a greyt first greyhound or a wonderful addition to an existing pack.

She will also initiate play and their daily zoomies. She isn't pushy about it, but her but is in the air and her tail is wagging. We believe that she would do best with a fenced in backyard to allow her to enjoy playtime. Due to her playful nature, we will only place her in a home with older kids (10+). He has tested kid, cat and other breed friendly. Sargent is a very mellow boy for his young years. He has a very "old soul" feel about him, you can see it in his eyes. He enjoys being with the other greyhounds in his playgroup, but he would much rather be with the human. He will follow you around the play area and give you those big beautiful eyes. You just cannot help but want to give him love and affection. He has not showed much interest in toys, except the squeaky noise does get his attention. But he does join in on the daily zoomies.
