Don’t look at the color of my fur or the
sex that I may be,
Look deep into my soul to see the real me.
Don’t look at my age and think that I am too young or too old,
I will still need a warm comfy bed when I come in from the cold.
Try to look past how long I’ve been waiting here,
Look past my shyness and help me get over my fear.
I just need a chance to find the love of a family,
That will look past my scares or gray and just hug me.
I just know that my forever family are on their way,
That because of them I will have my own Gotcha Day.
So hurry up family please don’t make me wait,
To be your family pet is what I want, it is my fate.

Please Note: GAA will no
longer place a cat safe greyhound in a home that does not contain a cat.
It is not fair for the non-cat safe greyhounds to wait so long for their
forever families. They deserve a comfy couch of their own too.
These are not the only
greyhounds we have available for adoption. Please come out to
our kennel to see everyone that is waiting for a family of their very
own.
Pam is a four year old red female.
She ran 69 races at Dubuque, Wheeling, and Tri-State Greyhound
Parks. She has tested kid and other large breed
friendly, however, she is not cat or small animal safe.
Pam is very friendly and outgoing. She loves to get
attention from our volunteers, especially if they have some
treats handy. She likes to go out for walks and she
walks nicely on a leash. Pam loves her toys and has
definitely shown us that she knows what to do with them.
Due to Pam's energy level, we are looking for a family with
older kids (10+) or another dog, not necessarily a greyhound,
to play with. She gets along well with the other
greyhounds and she will share her toys. Pam would make a
greyt first greyhound or a wonderful addition to an existing
pack.
Gusto
is a two year old red male. He ran five races at Tri-State
Greyhound Park. He has tested older kid and other large
breed friendly, however, he is not cat or small animal safe.
Gusto is an active hound and likes to play. He really
loves toys, but he does not destroy them. He gets along
greyt with the other greyhounds and he shares nicely.
Gusto needs an active family that will include him in their
activities. He would do best with older kids (10+), a
fenced in yard, and possibly another dog, not necessarily a
greyhound, to pal around with. Gusto loves treats and
would make a greyt candidate for obedience training.
He would make a greyt first greyhound or a wonderful addition to
an existing pack.
Shawn is a five
year old white ticked red male. He ran 141 races at
Tri-State Greyhound Park. He has tested kid, cat, and
other breed friendly. When you look into his eyes, you
can see that this boy has an old soul. Due to his long
racing career, he learns a new routine quickly and follows
without any problems. Shawn likes to go out for walks
and he walks nicely on a leash. He gets along well with
the other greyhounds and he shares. He enjoys his treats
and will do anything you ask to get one. Shawn loves
being around people and he would make a greyt therapy
greyhound. This boy can go to any type of family and
would fit in just fine. Shwan would make a greyt first
greyhound or a wonderful addition to an existing pack.
Joy is an almost two year old brindle female. She is
registered with the National Greyhound Association and
trained to race, however she never officially competed at a
track. She has tested kid, cat, and other breed
friendly. Joy is playful and enjoys playing with toys
and the other greyhounds. Due to her playful nature,
we will only place her with older kids (10+). We
believe that she would do wonderful in a home with a fenced
in yard and another dog, not necessarily a greyhound, to
have some fun. Joy would do well with an active family
that is willing to include her in their activities.
She loves to go for walks and she walks nicely on a leash.
Joy would make a greyt first greyhound and a wonderful
addition to an existing pack.
Lawford is a three year old
red brindle male. He ran 57 races at Tri-State
Greyhound Park. He has tested kid, cat, and
other breed friendly. Lawford is very laid back
and will probally become some lucky adopter's snuggle
buddy. He loves getting attention and treats
from our volunteers. He likes to go for walks
and he walks nicely on a leash. Lawford hasn't
shown any interest in toys yet, but he may given some
time. He gets along well with the other
greyhounds, but he tends to be the low man in the pack
order. Due to his calm nature, we think he would
make a greyt therapy greyhound. Lawford would
make a greyt first greyhound or a wonderful addition
to an existing pack.
Genoa is a two year old
black female. She is registered with the National
Greyhound Association and trained to race, however she never
officially competed at a track. She has tested kid, cat,
and other breed friendly. Genoa is very laid back and
affectionate. She can be shy when she first meets people
and in new situations, but she warms up fast. She would
probally do best in a quieter home. She enjoys getting
attention from our volunteers and enjoys going out for walks.
Genoa gets along well with all the other greyhounds and she
shares nicely. She is definitely a mid to lower pack
greyhound and will not challenge other greyhounds.
Genoa would become some lucky adopters velcro greyhound,
stuck to you. She would make a greyt first greyhound or
a wonderful addition to an existing pack.
Jerome is an almost two
year old dark brindle male. He is registered
with the National Greyhound Association and
trained to race, however he never officially
competed at a track. He has tested kid, cat,
and other breed friendly. GAA promises that
we did not use any type of bonding agent on
Jerome's ears on picture day, those are the way
they lay naturally. Jerome is sweet and has
recently started to be affectionate with our
volunteers. He has not shown any interest in
toys, but he does like being around the other
greyhounds. He likes going for a walk, but
could use some work on a leash. Jerome would
do best in a home with older kids (10+) with
another dog, not necessarily a greyhound, to learn
how to be a carefree pet.
Bebe is a four year old red brindle
female. She ran 64 races at Gulf and Mobile Greyhound Parks.
Now she is waiting to race into your heart. She has tested
older kid and other large breed friendly, however, she is not
small animal or cat safe. Bebe is happy and that tail never stops
wagging. She enjoys getting attention, and treats, from our
volunteers. She likes to play with the toys that make noise,
but she does not destroy them. Bebe likes to go out for
walks, but she could use a little practice on her leash skills.
She gets along well with the other greyhounds and she does share
nicely. She would make a greyt "ambassa-dog" for greyhound
adoption. Bebe is eager to please and would make a good
candidate for a therapy greyhound.
Jed is an almost two year old brindle
male. He is registered with the National Greyhound
Association and trained to race, however he never officially
competed. He has tested kid, cat, and other breed
friendly. Jed is very laid back and enjoys his down
time. He has not started to play with toys yet, but he
does like being around the other greyhounds. Jed does
have a goofy side to him, just like a typical male greyhound.
He enjoys getting attention and treats from our volunteers.
He also enjoys going for walks and he walks nicely on a leash.
Jed would probally do best in a calm environment with a family
that will let him develop at his own pace. He would make
a greyt first greyhound or a wonderful addition to an existing
pack.
Gary is a two year old
black male. He is registered with the National Greyhound
Association and trained to race, however he never officially
competed at a track. He has tested kid, cat, and other
breed friendly. Gary is very friendly and outgoing.
He enjoys getting attention from our volunteers and was
excellent with his kid test. He is very calm for his age
and listens well. He enjoys playing but he is not
fixated on the toys. Gary enjoys his treats and takes
them nicely from your hand. He is the type of greyhound
that could do well with any type of family. He would
even make a greyt therapy greyhound. Gary would make a
greyt first greyhound or a wonderful addition to an existing
pack.
James is an almost two year old
brindle male. He is registered with the National
Greyhound Association and trained to race, however he
never officially competed at a track. He has
tested kid, cat, and other breed friendly. James
is very sweet and has a gentle nature. He has
not started to play, but he does enjoy the other
greyhounds. He seems to fit into the middle of
the pack. He likes to go for walks and he walks
nicely on a leash. James will easily become some
adopter's "velcro" dog, he will be stuck to you.
He would make a greyt first greyhound or a wonderful
addition to an existing pack.
Flinn is a two year old
brindle female. She is registered with the National
Greyhound Association and trained to race, however she never
officially competed at a track. She has tested kid,
cat, and other breed friendly. It takes Flinn time to
get comfortable. She is shy and leery of meeting new
people and environments. Due to her shyness, we will
only place her in a home with older kids (13+). We
would also like to see her in a home with another dog, not
necessarily a greyhound, to learn how to become a pet.
She is not a super walker on a leash, but she will go as
long as there is another greyhound along for the walk.
She has not taken treats from our hands and she has not
tried to play with the toys in the playroom. Flinn
needs an experienced dog owner with another furry friend in
the home.
Dothan is a two year old red brindle
male. He ran five races at Tri-State Greyhound Park.
He has tested older kids, cats, and other breed friendly.
Dothan loves to play and is very interested in toys. He
gets along well with the other greyhounds and he does share
nicely. He is an active boy and would do best with older
kids (10+). He would also love to have a fenced in yard
to stretch his legs and chase some toys. Dothan loves
his treats and would make a greyt obedience candidate.
He likes to go out for walks and he could use a little
practice on a leash. Dothan is a gentleman and will
become some lucky adopters "velcro" dog, he will be stuck to
you. He would make a greyt first greyhound or a
wonderful addition to an existing pack.
Leckie is a eight year old light brindle
female. She ran 79 races at Tri-State Greyhound Park before
returning to the farm for her second career. She had five
offspring in one litter and GAA has found homes for all of them.
Now Leckie is trusting us to find her a loving family of her own.
She has tested kid, cat, and other breed friendly. Leckie is
very sweet and loves to get attention. She enjoys playing
with the other greyhounds and she shares nicely. She loves
to go out for walks and she walks nicely on a leash. We
haven't found anything that Leckie doesn't like doing. She
is playful, but has not tried to destroy her toys. She has
all the makings of a "ambassa-dog" for greyhound adoption.
Leckie would make a greyt first greyhound or a wonderful addition
to an existing pack.
Leckie is a part of our Brood Momma Fund.
There is no adoption donation required from the qualified home.
We just ask for a donation to keep the program going.
Mia is a four year old black female.
She ran 38 races at Tri-State, Palm Beach, and Mobile Greyhound
Parks. This little girl has done some traveling. She
has tested older kid (10+) and other large breed friendly,
however, she is not cat or small animal safe. Mia is
adorable and has the cutest ears that go to the side, instead of
up or flopping forward. She loves toys and will spend as
much time as we give her in the playroom going from toy to toy.
Due to her playful nature, we are looking for an active family
with older kids and a fenced in backyard. Mia is not just
playful, but she is very sweet and affectionate. She enjoys
spending quality time getting pets and ear rubs. She likes
to go out for her walks and walks nicely on a leash. Mia
loves her treats and takes them nicely from your hand.
Cisco is a two year old fawn
male. He ran 17 races at Orange Park and Tri-State
Greyhound Park. He has tested kid, cat, and other
breed friendly. We placed most of his sisters and
brothers in their forever homes and they are doing
wonderfully. We believe that Cisco will have the same
experience. He is very playful and cannot get enough
attention from our volunteers. He gets along greyt
with the other greyhounds and shares nicely. He walks
nicely on a leash and loves to go for walks. Due to
his playful nature and love for all humans, Cisco would be a
greyt candidate for a therapy greyhound. He would do
well with any type of family as long as there are plenty of
hands to pet him.
Miles is a four year old white and
brindle male. He is registered with the
National Greyhound Association and trained to race,
however henever officially competed at a track.
He has tested other large breed friendly, but he is
not cat or small animal safe. Miles has been
in two previous placements and has experienced the
same type of behavior in both. He likes to be
in charge. He can become territorial about
furniture and where he wants to lie down. We
believe that Miles needs another dog in the home,
not necessarily a greyhound, to give him some pack
order. He also needs an experienced dog owner
who will become his alpha and not give him the room
to take over. Due to his territorial issues,
we will not place him in a home with children.
Miles likes to get attention and he is very
affectionate. He knows how to sit and lie down
for his treat. He likes to go for walks and he
walks nicely on a leash. Miles would do best
with an adopter who will take him to obedience
classes.
Hastings is a two year old
black female. She is registered with the National
Greyhound Association and trained to race, however she never
officially competed at a track. She has tested kid,
cat, and other breed friendly. Hastings was in a house
with several pocket size dogs and another greyhound.
She was doing wonderful, but the amount of little dogs
became too overwhelming and she had to come back. This
does not mean that she cannot be placed with a little dog
again, it just means that she cannot do multiple little
dogs. Just look at how chill Hastings is in her
pictures. She is adorable and she knows it. She
likes to go out for walks and she walks nicely on a leash.
She enjoys getting attention and affection from our
volunteers. Hastings gets along with all the other
greyhounds and she shares nicely. She would make a
greyt first greyhound or a wonderful addition to an existing
pack.
Cass is a two year old brindle male.
He ran five races at Orange Park Greyhound Track. He
has tested kid and other large breed friendly, however he is
not cat or small animal safe. Cass was placed in a
home, but he was too interested in their cat. He is
friendly and outgoing. He loves to get attention from
people. He would make a greyt ambassa-dog for
greyhound adoption. He likes to go out for walks and
he walks nicely on a leash. Cass has found that he
enjoys toys. So much that he just wants to open them
up and see what they are all about. Plenty of fluff in
the playroom when he is done. Cass enjoys his treats
and would make a greyt obedience candidate. He gets
along well with the other greyhounds and he shares nicely.
Cass would make a greyt first greyhound or a wonderful
addition to an existing pack.
Kasson is a three year
old red male. He ran 54 races at Sanford Orlando and
Tri-State Greyhound Parks. He has tested kid and other
breed friendly. He also tested cat correctable.
This means that he was interested in the cats to play and will
need more time to adjust to living with the furry guys.
Kasson is very sweet and friendly. He would make a greyt
ambassa-dog for greyhound adoption. He likes to go out
for walks and he walks nicely on a leash. He enjoys
playing with toys and can get the squeaker out given time.
Kasson gets along well with the other greyhounds and he shares
nicely. He is very treat motivated and would make a
greyt candidate for obedience. Kasson would make a greyt
first greyhound or a wonderful addition to an existing pack.
Harts is an almost two year old
black female. She is registered with the National
Greyhound Association and trained to race, however, she
never officially competed at a track. She has tested
kid, cat, and other breed friendly. This little girl
is very sweet and loveable. She just loves attention
and affection from people. She also has a lot of puppy
still in her and loves to play. We think that Harts
would do best in a home with a fenced in yard and another
dog, not necessarily a greyhound, to play with. Due to
her playful spirit, we will only place her in a home
with older kids (10+). She loves to go for walks and
she walks nicely on leash. Harts would make a greyt
first greyhound or a wonderful addition to an existing pack.
Tiger is a five year old
black male. He ran 141 races at Saint Petersburg,
Dubuque, and Tri-State Greyhound Parks. He ran grade
"AA" at Tri-State where he spent most of his career.
This boy was no joke on the track and now he is looking for
his retirement couch. He has tested kid and other large
breed friendly, however, he is cat correctable. This
means that he just needs some help adjusting to living with
the furry buddies. Tiger is quite nervous with new
people and situations. Once he falls into a routine and
knows what you expect, he becomes trusting and affectionate.
GAA feels that he would do best in a quiet home with older
kids and another dog, not necessarily a greyhound, to help him
adjust easily to being a pet. Tiger is going to be a
"velcro" greyhound, stuck to you.
Mike is a four year old brindle male.
He ran 127 races at Dubuque and Tri-State Greyhound Parks.
He has tested kid, cat, and other breed friendly. Mike
has been placed in a home twice and came back to GAA twice.
The first time Mike decided that he did not want to walk on
a leash with his adopters. The second time he became a
little growly when he wanted to get his way. We
believe that Mike needs an experienced "alpha" dog owner
that has another dog, not necessarily a greyhound, in the
home. Mike is very laid back and calm. He is a
leaner and will attach himself to you for pets. He
loves treats and we believe he would do well and benefit
from obedience training. He gets along well with the
other greyhounds and he shares nicely.
Dorcas is a two year old
brindle male. He ran twelve races at Orange Park and
Tri-State Greyhound Parks. He has tested older kid and
other large breed friendly, however, he is not cat or small
animal safe. In all the years that GAA has been placing
greyhounds, this is the first one that lives up to his name.
This boy is very goofy. He is extremely toy focused, but
does not destroy them, yet... Due to his extreme
playfulness, we will only place him with older kids (12+).
Dorcas should go to an adoptive family that has another dog,
not necessarily a greyhound, and a large fenced in yard.
He is very friendly and will go up to anyone for pets and the
hope that they have a treat. He gets along greyt with
other greyhounds and shares nicely, however, he does not have
any concept of personal space. He likes to go out for
walks and once he gets over the initial excitement, he walks
nicely on a leash. Dorcas needs an active family that
will include him in their activities.
Francis is a two year old black female.
She is registered with the National Greyhound Association and
trained to race, however she never officially competed at a
track. She just knew that she wanted to retire at an early
age to get the maximum couch time. She has tested kid,
cat, and other breed friendly. Francis is calm and very
sweet. She does enjoy being with people and loves her
"cookies". She does show some interest in toys, but she
hasn't started to play yet. She likes going out for walks
and she walks nicely on a leash. Francis is like her two
sisters Friendly and Finch, she is confident but not pushy.
She gets along with the other greyhounds and shares nicely.
Francis would make a greyt first greyhound or a wonderful
addition to an existing pack.
Joppa is a three year old black
female. She ran 82 races at Tri-State Greyhound Park and
now she is ready to run some zoomies in her backyard.
She has tested kid and other large breed friendly Joppa is
very sweet and calm. She loves to give and get affection
from our volunteers. She does get her burst of playful
greyhound energy and she likes to toss the stuffies around.
Joppa gets along greyt with the other greyhounds and she
shares nicely. She is very laid back and will walk away
from a more alpha greyhound. She enjoys going out for
walks and she walks nicely on a leash. Joppa can go with
any type of adoptive family. She would make a greyt
first greyhound or a wonderful addition to an existing pack.
Garrison is a two year old black male.
He ran 17 races at Tri-State Greyhound Park. He has
tested kid, cat, and other breed friendly. Garrison is
your typical male greyhound. He is playful, lazy,
goofy, and will win your heart in just a couple minutes.
He enjoys playing with toys and expells a good amount of
energy with them. Once he has had time to play, he is
ready for a long greyhound nap. Garrison likes to go
out for walks and he walks nicely on a leash. He plays
nicely with the other greyhounds and he shares nicely.
He is a mid pack greyhound and he won't challenge any of the
other dogs. He enjoys his treats, but takes them
gently. Garrison would make a greyt first greyhound or
a wonderful addition to an existing pack.

Blair is an almost seven year
old white and brindle female. She ran 61 races at
Orange Park before returning to the farm for her second
career as a brood mom. She had 8 offspring in two
litters and we have placed them all in their forever homes.
Now it is time for GAA to do the same for Blair. She
has tested kid, cat, and other breed friendly. She is
overly affectionate and thoroughly enjoys the company of
people and other dogs. This girl has a playful
personality and she loves her toys. She would do best
with an active family that will include her in their
activities. Due to her confident and outgoing nature,
Blair would make a greyt therapy greyhound. She loves
to go out for walks and she walks nicely on a leash.
Blair would make a greyt first greyhound or a wonderful
addition to an existing pack.
Blair is a part of our Brood
Momma Fund. There is no adoption donation required
from the qualified home. We just ask for a donation to
keep the program going.
Jimmie Kay is a five year old black
female. She is registered with the National Greyhound
Association and trained to race, however, she never
officially competed at a track. Jimmie has tested
older kid friendly (12+), however, she really needs to be an
only animal. We placed Jimmie in a home with another
greyhound, but she started to pick on her, and she nipped
her a couple of times. The other greyhound became
afraid. We have noticed that Jimmie Kay will growl at
other greyhounds. Jimmie is sweet and loves her
treats. She needs an experienced dog owner that will
set their limits and stick to it. Once she respects
you as the alpha, she does let you be in charge. She
enjoys going out for walks and she walks nicely on a leash.
We just know that Jimmie Kay's pack leader is out there some
where.
Fletcher is a two year
old white and black male. He ran 66 races at Tri-State
Greyhound Park. He has tested kid, cat, and other breed
friendly. Fletcher is very sweet and gets along well
with all the other greyhounds. He enjoys his food and
treats. This could be a big benefit to his training as a
pet. He has some interest in toys, but we are sure that
this will expand in his forever home. He likes to go out
for walks and he walks nicely on a leash. Fletcher can
be a little shy when he first meets you, but he warms up fast.
Due to his need for some adjustment time and his love of food
and treats, we will only place him with older kids (10+).
Fletcher would make a greyt first greyhound or a wonderful
addition to an existing pack.
Cabin is a two year
old red male. He ran sixteen races at Orange Park and
Tri-State Greyhound Parks. He has tested kid, cat, and
other breed friendly. Cabin is very laid back and calm
for his young age. He does show an interest in toys,
but he is quick to find a bed after a couple of minutes of
play. He loves treats and affection from our
volunteers. He could even be a possible candidate for
a therapy greyhound. Cabin likes to go out for walks
and he walks nicely on a leash. He gets along greyt
with the other greyhounds and he shares nicely. He is
going to be some lucky adopters "velcro" greyhound, he will
be stuck to them. He would make a greyt first
greyhound or a wonderful addition to an existing pack.
And who could resist his Groucho Marx eyebrows?
Finch is a two year old black female. She is
registered with the National Greyhound Association and
trained to race, however she never officially competed
at a track. She has tested kid, cat, and other
breed friendly. Finch is your typical greyhound
for her age. She is quite calm, but is not a shy
dog. She likes people, but she is not pushy about
it. She falls into a routine fast and is eager to
please. Finch gets along greyt with all the other
greyhounds and plays nicely. She enjoys a good
walk and she walks nicely on a leash. Finch would
make a greyt first greyhound or a wonderful addition to
an existing pack. I'm Home With My Forever Family!!
Tico is a four year old black female.
She ran 58 races at Southland and Mobile Greyhound Parks.
She has tested kid, cat, and other breed friendly. Tico
is a playful and happy girl. She likes to play with her
toys and she is always happy to see our volunteers. She
is very outgoing and has no problem adjusting to new
situations and people. Tico would do best in a forever
home with older kids (10+) and a backyard for her to play.
She would probably enjoy another dog in the home, not
necessarily a greyhound, to pal around with and share toys.
She likes to go out for walks and she does walk nicely on a
leash. Tico would make a greyt first greyhound or a
wonderful addition to an existing pack.
Rain is a four year old red female. She ran 99 races at Tri-State Greyhound Park. She has tested kid, cat, and other breed friendly. Rain is a little bundle of play energy. She loves to play with toys and run around the playroom. Due to her energetic nature, we will only place her with older kids (10+). We are looking for an active family with a fenced in backyard and another dog, not necessarily a greyhound, for her to pal around with. Rain loves people and her tail just does not stop. She walks nicely on a leash and enjoys her walks. Rain would make a greyt companion for a playful furkid in her adoptive home.

friendly and outgoing. She would make a greyt
ambassa-dog for greyhound adoption. Vandalia likes
attention and treats. She gets along greyt with the
other greyhounds and shares nicely. She likes to go out
for walks and walks nicely on a leash. Vandalia will
give you kisses. She would do best in a home with a
fenced in yard for playtime or an adopter that likes to walk.
Vandalia would make a greyt first greyhound or a wonderful
addition to an existing pack.

She ran nine races at Tri-State Greyhound Park. She has
tested kid, cat, and other breed friendly. For this girl
her name says it all. She is friendly and outgoing.
She loves to get attention and will show her appreciation by
giving you wet sloppy kisses. Friendly would do greyt in
any type of home. She is the type of greyhound that the
family can take her with them whenever they wanted to. She
enjoys going out for walks and she walks nicely on a leash.
She would make a fantastic ambassa-dog for greyhound adoption or
even a therapy greyhound. She gets along greyt with the
other greyhounds and shares nicely. Friendly would make a
greyt first greyhound or a wonderful addition to an existing
pack.
Farmington is a two
year old black male. He is registered with the National
Greyhound Association and trained to race, however, he never
officially competed at the track. He has tested kid,
cat, and other breed friendly. Farmington loves, loves,
loves people. He loves giving and getting attention,
especially hugs. He is playful and has started exploring
the toys in our playroom. Farmer, his nickname, enjoys
going out for walks and he walks nicely on a leash. He
gets along with the other greyhounds and shares nicely.
Farmington is the brother to Fairbanks and they arrived at GAA
together, but we have also placed quite a few of his siblings.
Farmer would make a greyt first greyhound or a wonderful
addition to an existing pack.
Dink is a two year old
white and brindle male. He ran three races at Tri-State
Greyhound Park. Obviously he was extremely not interested
in a career and decided that the couch life was for him.
Dink has tested older kid and cat safe. Due to an issue at
the farm he is from, we will only place Dink as an only dog in
the home. Dink is one of the nicest greyhounds at the
kennel. He loves people and cannot get enough attention.
This handsome boy loves to play. We believe that Dink
would do best in a home with a backyard and older kids (12+) to
throw some toys for him. Due to his outgoing nature and
his love of people, we believe that he would make a therapy
greyhound. Dink lkes to go out for walks and he walks
nicely on a leash.
Tops is a five year old red male.
He ran 79 races at Victoryland, Southland, and Mobile
Greyhound Parks. He has tested kid and other large breed
friendly, however he is not cat or small animal safe.
Tops is playful and friendly. He loves his toys and his
people. He likes to go out for walks. He gets very
excited that he is going out for a walk, but he walks nicely
once he calms down. He is very treat motivated and
should be very easy to train. Tops would do best with
older kids (10+) and a fenced in backyard to chase after the
toys they throw for him. Plus he has the most enormous
ears and they stand up most of the time. And don't get
us started on that waggy tail of his. Tops would make a
greyt first greyhound or a wonderful addition to a large breed
pack.
Molly is a seven and a half year old red brindle female.
She ran five races and Woodlands and Wichita Greyhound Parks.
She came to Greyhound Angels Adoption and was adopoted out in
2007. She was returned to GAA when her adopters children
started to crawl. Molly did not do well with the children
coming up to her when she was laying down. She did growl
and snap at them a couple of times. She has tested older
kids and other large breed friendly, however she is not cat or
small animal safe. Molly is very sweet and loves to get
attention and go for walks. She can easily go in a home
with older kids that can understand that she wants her space.
Her adoptive home also had another greyhound in it and they got
along greyt.
Presidential is a three year old brindle
male. He is registered with the National Greyhound
Association and trained to race, however he never officially
competed at a track. He has tested good with other large
breeds and greyhounds, but he is not cat or small animal safe.
Pres is hypo-thyroid and is currently on medication. His
recent test results show that he is in therapeutic range.
This means that he will be on this medication for the rest of his
life and will need blood tests to ensure that he remains in
therapeutic range. He was placed in a home, but his thyroid
made him testy. He has spent some time back at the GAA
kennel and on his medication. We feel that he is ready for a
placement that understands his diagnosis. Due to his thyroid
concerns, we will not place him in a home with kids. Pres
gets along greyt with the other greyhounds and he shares well.
It takes him some time to form a trusting bond with people.
We are looking for an alpha adopter that will give him a sense of
security. We also believe that he would benefit from
obedience training. This will help Pres bond with his
adopter and learn his place in his new home.
