Brood Momma Fund

GAA has a special fund for just Brood Mommas.  These special greyhounds race and then are brought back to the farm to raise future generations of greyhounds.

They are typically six years old or older once they are ready to retire to a forever home.  This means that it is harder to place them and they spend more time at the kennel or in foster care.  GAA only requests a donation of the adopter's choice for all our Brood Mommas.

We want to be able to bring them to GAA and let them stay with us until a home is found, but we need your help.  We need to cover the extra cost of food or vet care while they are with us.  We are selling Brood Momma items to raise these funds.  Please click on the Momma and her puppies above to see our Brood Momma store.

Remember, if it was not for these lovely ladies, you wouldn't have your greyhounds sleeping in your home.

Or you can donate directly to the Brood Momma Fund by mailing your donation to:

Wiggles (on the right) went home with Paul and Susan Decker.  She is living with her brother Junior, a retired stud.

Shylo, a brood mom after a long racing career, has found her forever home through our program.  The Druce family, adopters of Biggie, found him a friend.  Shylo now lives with her forever family and Biggie in Marlton, New Jersey.

Swingin not only got her forever home, she also got to live with her son Up.  She now lives with the Miller family, and her son, in Medford Lakes, New Jersey.

Patricia attended our picnic with her sister-in-law, Lincoln's mommy, Trish.  She told us that she wanted to adopt a senior greyhound that was cat safe.  We introduced her to Mystery and it was instant love.  Mystery, now Misty, lives in Maryland with Patricia Neary.

Tracy sent in her application on-line.  We called her and she wanted to know if Daffy was still available.  She explained that she has an 8 year old Shepard mix and wanted a friend for her.  They came to the kennel and Daffy and Lady met.  Daffy and Lady were a greyt match.  Daffy now lives in Voorhees, New Jersey with the Landi family and her friend Lady.

Lilly was a brood mom after her racing career.  She had seven puppies in one litter.  Then she came to us to find a forever home.  The Petersons were looking for a greyhound.  Ellen Cassels, a Greyhound Guardian, told them about Lilly.  They met her and fell in love.  Lilly now lives with the Peterson family in Runnemede, New Jersey.

Lady Mae was a brood mom after her racing career.  She had 32 pups during her second career.  Then she came to us to find a forever home.  Peg had just adopted two greyhounds from us two months ago, but she wanted a brood mom.  She brought her two greyhounds to the kennel and met Lady Mae.  They all got along greyt.  Lady Mae, now Judy, lives with Peg, Barbie, and Ben in Pennsville, New Jersey.

Carol, an Animal Control Officer in New Jersey, decided that she would like to adopt a greyhound. She came to the kennel and asked us who was the oldest and needed to be adopted. We showed her Dimmer and it was love at first sight. Once Dimmer passed the cat test it was a done deal. Dimmer now lives with Carol in Audubon, New Jersey.

Rita had recently lost one of her greyhounds, Cindy. She has three greyhounds, but is used to being a mom to four. She sent in her application on-line and brought Katie, Connie, and Zekey to the kennel to meet Opal. They all smelled each others hineys and went for a walk. Opal fit in like she was always part of the pack. Opal now lives with Rita in Bensalem, Pennsylvania.

John and Melinda came out to the kennel to see what greyhounds were like. They spent some time meeting different greyhounds and taking them for walks. However, it was Silky that captured their hearts. Silky is a 9.5 year old retired brood momma that came to us from Bahama Momma Greyhounds, Inc. Silky is now being spoiled and pampered by John and Melinda in Lumberton, New Jersey.

Jim and Liz recently lost their two greyhounds Roxy and Scout. They saw Sunny on our website and came out to the kennel to meet her. Sunny was perfect for them. She is affectionate and calm, just what they were looking for. Sunny now lives with Jim and Liz in Holmdel, New Jersey.

The Tomczyk family was interested in giving a brood mom a forever home. They sent in their application on line and came out to the adoption kennel. They were particularly interested in meeting Citation. Citation was shy with them at first, but on her second walk she started to untuck her tail. Citation now lives with the Tomczyk family in Wilmington, Delaware.
